Of the Earth

Published by Darlene McCallum under Card Samples

Of the Earth Stampin' Up! Hostess Set

"The greatest gift is a portion of thyself." Ralph Waldo Emerson

What a fabulous quote! I love this new Level 1 Hostess stamp set, Of the Earth. It has the quote plus the flower shown here as well as a bird and a butterfly on a flower.

And the best part? It is yours free with a $200 order plus you will earn an additional $20 in stampin’ rewards to spend in the catalogue. Place your own order or collect orders from friends and place a workshop order to receive your free set and rewards. And remember, every order earns you Ink Crowd points as a gift from me.

This card uses the new Groom Specialty Paper. I was surprised by the elegance of this paper. And it is actually a lightweight cardstock and not a paper like the Designer Series papers. Each package has the two patterns shown here, a pin stripe and damask.  The Specialty paper is also available in Bride (white) and Bridesmaid (Vanilla).

The flower was stamped with VersaMark ink and covered with the Heat and Stick powder. After tapping off the excess powder, I heated the image just until it became shiny. If the Heat and Stick powder is overheated it will lose it stickiness. Next, I covered the image with the black glitter from the Fine Galaxy assortment and used my finger to press it down onto the image. Finally, I tapped off the excess glitter and returned it to the container.

To embellish, I used a small grommet in black and the Bermuda Bay ribbon solid side up. I hope you like it!

Melon Mambo Pyramid

Published by Darlene McCallum under Card Samples

Stampin' Up! For All You Do Stamp Set Pyramid Card

I received a beautiful Pyramid Card from one of my Stampin’ Up! team members a few months ago and have been wanting to make my own.

My wait is over and I like how it turned out!

I used the stamp set For All You Do (which is included in the $105 Mini Starter Kit).

I layered the white embosed image onto a piece of Melon Mambo cardstock 2" x 2" and then onto Whisper White cardstock that is 2-1/4" x 2-1/4".

The next layers of Melon Mambo Patterns Designer Series Paper are 3" x 3", 4" x 4", 5" x 5" and the Whisper White cardstock is  3-1/4" x 3-1/4", 4-1/4" x 4-1/4" and 5-1/4" x 10-1/2".

I embellished with white accessories including Jumbo Brads, Taffeta Ribbon and Library clips.

Dots & Designs

Published by Darlene McCallum under Card Samples

I love, love, love these new Dots & Designs Rub-ons!

In each package are two identical sheets with 17 images on each sheet. The co-ordinating colours are so crisp – Ruby Red, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White

Dots & Designs Rub-ons, $15.95, Item #115728, page 176.

I love simple cardmaking and using the rub-ons allows me to be creative and still create fast, easy cards.

This card uses two rub-ons – a floral design and the Chocolate Chip border.  A short length of ribbon tied around the border is the only embellishment.

Two long rub-on strips are used on this card. The long wide border has Whisper White flowers on a Chocolate Chip border. The narrow border is Whisper White and I applied it onto Chocolate Chip cardstock. Three 5/16" jumbo brads in Chocolate Chip finish the card.

The Ruby Red border is the only rub-on used here. I applied it on Whisper White cardstock and layered onto Ruby Red cardstock. Then, I stamped a greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes onto Whisper White cardstock with Chocolate Chip ink and punched it out with the Word Window punch.  Ruby Red cardstock punched wth the Modern Label punch is layered under the Word Window piece.

This card uses the new 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain ribbon tied with a piece of narrow grosgrain as the background. The floral rub-on is layered onto Chocolate Chip and Ruby Red cardstocks.

In Color Swap Guest Stampers

Published by Darlene McCallum under Card Samples

One of the many reasons to be a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator on the Dreaming About Rubber Stamps team is for the awesome swaps.

Our last DARS Team swap featured the new In Colors. I will be sharing more of the cards over the next few Sundays.

Want more information on being a Dars Team demo? Click here    .

The card above was created by guest stamper Tanya Olinek.  She stamped the card with the new Hostess set, Kind and Caring Thoughts. The colours are Rich Razzleberry and Certainly Celery. And since every girl loves bling, she used glitter on the flower to really make it pop.

This card was created by guest stamper, Jackie Brotherson. She used the new Hostess set, Asian Artistry. The colours she featured were Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede and Dusty Durango. Notice how she cut down the Curly Label punch and layered it under the Modern Label and Word Window punches. Love it!

This card was created by guest stamper, Carolyn Dieleman. The stamp set is Circle Circus and she used Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry In Colors. Look closely – do you see the polka dots on the card?  After stamping, Carolyn ran the cardstock through the Big Shot Texturz plate and added the embossed dots. What a great idea!

Finial Press Card

A simple card for the weekend.

The background of this card is the new Finial Press embossing folder for the Big Shot. Isn’t it pretty?

I layered it on Chocolate Chip cardstock and embellished with the new Ribbon Originals in Masterpiece and chocolate chip Jumbo Brads. The colours in the ribbon I used are Very Vanilla, Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip. I made a loop wih the narrow ribbon as an accent. I used Very Vanilla cardstock for the layered piece and the greeting.

Stamping a Teeny Tiny Wishes sentiment with Chocolate Chip ink on Very Vanilla cardstock, I punched with the Word Window and layered it onto a Modern Label piece punched with Chocolate Chip.

I don’t know what I would do with out the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and the Modern Label punch.  I love them and use them almost daily. If you haven’t already, order your stamp set and punch today!

Flower Fantasy Printed Window Sheets

Published by Darlene McCallum under Card Samples

I really wanted to make cards using the new 12" x 12" Printed Wndow Sheets, Flower Fantasy. You can see them on page 169 of the new catalogue.

Although they are the perfect size for making scrapbook pages, I wanted to use the window sheets for cards. And I did! I was able to create 5 cards in various sizes from one sheet.

To embellish the cards, I used Fleurettes II, white 5/16" brads, Playground Designer Buttons, Rich Razzleberry polka dot ribbon and white taffeta ribbon

I hope you like them!

The finished size of this card is 8" x 3-3/4".

I attached the smallest Fleurette with a white brad and wrapped the Rich Razzleberry ribbon around the card, polka dots down. The white taffteta ribbon was tied on top. I hid the mini glue dots adhering the window sheets to the Certainly Celery cardstock underneath the embellishments.

The finished size of this card is 4-1/4" x 5-1/2".

I inserted a white brad into the largest size Playground Designer Button and adhered it on the Razzleberry ribbon tied with the white taffeta. Doesn’t it look like a lifesaver candy!?

The finished size of this card is 5-1/2" x 5-1/2".

As on the other cards, I stamped the greeting with the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set in Rich Razzleberry ink on Whisper White cardstock  and punched with the Word Window.

I then layered the greeting onto Rich Razzleberry cardstock punched with the Modern Label punch.

The finished size of the card on the left is 3" x 3". The finished size of the card on the right is 4" x 4".

I love reversing the Rich Razzleberry polka dot ribbon to a solid colour ribbon. It makes the ribbon so versatile. To embellish these cards, I used the small flower button from the Playground Designer buttons and another small Fleurette

Things I Love …

Published by Darlene McCallum under Card Samples

Things I love…my list would have to include Coach handbags and Starbucks lattes to be complete!

I also love this stamp set! What fun!  This set is appropriately called Things I Love, $20.95, item#115229, page 54.  What a great price! And we girls who love to shop, love a bargain!

I used the Chocolate Chip Patterns designer series paper in addition to Real Red, Chocolate Chip and Certainly Celery and Whisper White cardstock.

The images were stamped and the punched with the 1-1/4" circle punch and layered onto a 1-3/8" circle. The final touch was a bow with the new 1" double-stitched grosgrain ribbon in Real Red.

This movement card type is called a Double Slider since two pieces of cardstock slide out of the top of the card when the ribbon is pulled. It is alot easier to make then it looks. Let me know if you want the instructions.
