Shimmery Medallion

Published by Darlene McCallum under Card Samples

Stampin Up Medallion

Did you know that the Stampin’ Up! Medallion stamp is one of the best selling stamps in the current catalogue? Have you ordered your Medallion stamp yet? Do it today!

For this card, I inked up the Medallion with Sahara Sand ink and then sponged Not Quite Navy ink around the outside with a dauber. Using a second dauber, I sponged Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint around the edge of the Not Quite Navy ink and stamped on Shimmery White cardstock.

Then I inked the Medallion again with Not Quite Navy in the middle and sponged Champagne Mist on top. This was punched with the 1-3/4" circle punch and I used dimensionals to add height. The very center piece was sponged with Champagne Mist using the ink that was already on the dauber for a fainter colour. I punched this with the 3/4" circle punch and added a flat pearl in the center.

To finish the card, I glued the Shimmery Wite cardstock onto a slightly larger piece of Sahara Sand cardstock and punched with the Horizontal Slot punch. Two layers of ribbon are threaded through and adhered on the back. Then, I used a large flat pearl to cover the hole from the punch. This piece was mounted onto Not Quite Navy cardstock.

A Beary Nice Bookmark Holder

Stampun up Beary Best Friends

I have had lots of time to stamp recently as both of the computers in the house picked this last week to quit.  The good news is that I am once again online, fingers crossed, and I have lots of new projects to share with you.

Today’s project is a bookmark holder that was shown at the Stampin’ Up! Convention in August. I wanted to make a little gift for my 2 nieces and 2 nephews, all 6 years and under, that would keep them a little busy when we went out for dinner. And this activity fit the bill perfectly.

I stamped the Real Red cardstock with Real Red ink using the girl and boy bears from Beary Best Friends in the Holiday Mini catalogue and used the scallop edge punch on the longer flap.

 Stampin Up Bookmakr Holder

Inside I included a bookmark stamped with an image they could colour and some crayons. The holder was held together with a belly band to keep the crayons inside.

 Stampin Up Beary Sealof Pawthenticity

The bear is from the set, Seal of Pawthenticity. Isn’t it cute? I also used a 1" x 8"strip of  Christmas Cocoa designer series paper for the band and mounted it on Soft Suede cardstock 1-1/4" x 8".  The medallion is two scallop circle punches, Real Red on Soft Suede.

I made a tie with the Sleigh Bells ribbon which matches so well. The bookmark holder is Real Red cardstock cut to 7-3/4" x 11". The bookmark is Real red cardstock 3" x 5-1/2" and Whisper White cardstock cut to 2-3/4" x 5-1/4" and glued on top.

Shimmery Specialty Paper

Published by Darlene McCallum under Card Samples

Stampin Up Canada Eastern Blooms

I can’t stop using my Shimmer Paints. I looove them all!

On this card, I dipped a dauber into Frost White Shimmer Paint and applied it to the Groom Specialty paper by rubbing in circles (instead of dabbing). It dried quite quickly.

Then I stamped an image from Embrace Life – $34.95, set of 5, #114958 – with Basic Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock.  I added a greeting from Fundamental Phrases in Basic Black and coloured the flower with the Bermuda Bay and Basic Black markers.   Three black brads from the Vintage Brads assortment complete the stamped piece.

I added three lengths of ribbon in wide Basic Black grosgrain, Bermuda Bay grosgrain and Basic Black grosgrain to the card by adhering the ribbon on the back of the Bermuda Bay Cardstock. As an added embellishment, I tied a small knot with the Basic Black grosgrain at the side of the card. To finish the card, I added the stamped image using dimensionals for a little bit of height.

I really like the look of this card. It showcases simple stamping but the Shimmer Paint on the Groom paper makes it really special.

Extreme Elements Tween Card

Stampin Up Canada

As the mother of an almost 12 year old boy, some of the most difficult cards I make are for birthday parties that he attends.

Now, when I say difficult, I don’t mean hard or time consuming, I mean that the cards need to pass the tweenage boy approval test. And that is not always easy to do!

But I am happy to announce that this card passed on the first try and apparently even "wow"ed the other kids at the party!

To make this card, I used Basic Black, Sahara Sand and Real Red inks and cardstock. I stamped the Extreme Elements stamp set - $35.95, set of 6, #11581, page 81 - randomly on Whisper White cardstock and embellished with brads and a greeting banner created from cardstock and adhered with dimensionals

Stampin Up Canada

Inside the card, I used the Look Here Big Shot die to create a holder for the gift card. This is such a great way to present gift cards and always gets alot of attention.

Big Shot Sunday, Thanks Embosslit

Published by Darlene McCallum under 3D Samples,Big Shot

Stampin Up Embosslit

I needed a make a few small thank you gifts and wanted them to be quick and easy. And I wanted to use my new "Thanks" embosslit die for the Big Shot.

I used small pieces of designer series paper in various colours and scraps of cardstock to make these little pouches that hold a rubber stamp and a piece of chocolate in a small flat cello bag. To finish, I embellished with ribbon and brads.

I hope those who receive one will like them!

Today is 9.9.9! Let’s Celebrate!

Published by Darlene McCallum under Specials

Today is all about 9 - 09/09/09. The date also falls on a Wednesday in September.  How many letters in Wednesday? In September? You guessed it – 9!

And today is the 252nd day of the year. So, what do you get when you add up those digits of 2+5+2? Yup – 9!

If that’s not enough, when you multiply a single digit by 9, the digits of the result add up to 9. For instance, 8×9 is 72. 7+2=9. Want to try another one, 9×4=36, and 3+6=9.

I can’t let a day that is this much fun go by without a special!

So, I am offering you my own 999 special for only 99 hours!

Stampin Up Specials

Place an order of $50 or more before tax and shipping and you can choose any $22.95 punch for only $9.99. Orders must be received by 9 pm on Sunday, September 13.

Punch It Up! Two Cards, One Look

Stampin up Punch

Although I do not want the weather to change, I am having so much fun creating Christmas cards with my new Stampin’ Up! products!

When you’re ready to start planning and creating your Christmas cards, give me a call at 1.866.472.8207 or e-mail me for your card consultation. Or, get your friends or co-workers together for a fun, one hour or less Christmas Card Express class

Today’s card’s are stamp free. I used only punches, paper and acessories to create these easy cards.

Stampin Up Ornament Punch

This first card uses Soft Suede, Kraft and Real Red cardstocks with Christmas Cocoa designer series paper (116770) from the Holiday Mini.  After punching with the Ornament punch (116794) and Real Red cardstock, I layered it onto crimped Christmas Cocoa paper using dimensionals for added height.

A different pattern of Christmas Cocoa paper was used as a horizontal border. Sleigh Bells ribbon (116795) and Real Red brads (106957 – Bold Brights) were used to embellish the card and add more colour.

Stampin Up Jumbo Snowflake Punch

This card follows the same layout but uses Certainly Celery in place of the Real Red. I also used Soft Suede, Kraft and Christmas Cocoa paper on this second card with Certainly Celery 5/8" grosgrain ribbon (109050) and Fresh Favourites I buttons (107421).

A Jumbo Snowflake punch (116628) was layered onto Very Vanilla cardstock with Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430). I like the versatility of this card – it can be used all winter and would be a great bithday or thank you card as well as Christmas.
