Quick Dasher!

Quick Dasher!

 Stampin' Up! Dasher

I love cards in a single colour. For me, they are the easiest to create and seem to come together effortlessly.

Today, I decided I wanted to use the Mistletoe ribbon featured in the Holiday Mini catalogue. Because the ribbon is Old Olive, it was easy to select cardstock and papers to match. I added two Merry Moments designer series paper patterns and as I still had some embossed Whisper White strips created with the Petals-A-Plenty Impression Folder also in the Holiday Mini from this card, I used them as well. I stamped Dasher with Old olive ink, added my ribbon and my card was done. Quick and Easy!

Stampin' Up! Sparkly and Bright

Sparkly and Bright! Doesn’t the name of this stamp set just cry out for sparkle?

To get the rows of glitter, I put down strips of Sticky Strip and then covered them with Dazzling Diamonds glitter. Between each row of glitter, I added a length of Rose Red grograin ribbon for more colour.

I added a small Rhinestone brad to the center of each punched circle snowflake and adhered them with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I love all the glitz on this card and using the Sticky Strip made it easy!

I can’t stop using this beautiful flocked paper from the Christmas Cocoa Specialty paper package – $15.95, #116770 – page 21 Holiday mini.  It makes every card special!  I also like that fact that it is not too Christmasy so any paper I don’t use for Christmas Cards can be used all year round. Imagine it on a fabulous birthday card.

For the Modern Label layered greeting, I used the same technique as I did here.  And, I used scissors to cut the post ends off the Hodgepodge Hardware so I could lift it up with dimensionals. This card is almost mono-chromatic but I like the elegance the bit of silver adds to it.

Are your Christmas Cards ready? I have my design ready and materials ordered. Next week, I plan to cut and stamp and then start putting them together assembly line style.  How about you?

It’s A Blossom Party

It’s A Blossom Party

Stampin' Up! Blossom Party

In my family – including Mom and Dad, my siblings, their spouses, my nieces and nephews and hubby and my kids – there are 15 of us. But would you believe there are 7 November birthdays? Actually, 8 if you count our puppy, Sophie, who, of course, gets her own celebration.

So, for me, November is all about parties, cakes and cards.

I made this card for my daughter who turned 13 this weekend. A teenager! It’s hard to believe how quickly the years have flown by.

I used bright colours but kept the card simple. The colours are all in colors – Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry. The die is a new favourite, Blossom Party, a Stampin’ Up! exclusive. I love how the layered flowers fit together and layer so easily. I used textured cardstock from the assorted in color package, a great way to purchase all of the colours. The “A Little Birthday Cheer” greeting was stamped in Melon Mambo ink. To finish, I made some ribbons of cardstock and topped them with Bermuda Bay grosgrain ribbon

Is the Big Shot Die Cut Machine on your Holiday Wish List? Remeber to get those lists to me this week!

A Delightful Trio for Simple Saturday

A Delightful Trio for Simple Saturday

Stampin' Up! Delightful Decorations

Today’s Simple Saturday features three cards all made using the Delightful Decorations stamp set.

These cards are for my class tonight at church. I have 99 people registered to attend and most have never stamped before. I planned these cards to be simple and easy to make.  I also wanted to show the variety of cards you can make using only one stamp set. So, of course, I used Delightful Decorations, the set I seem to reach for the most these days. Are you tired of seeing it yet?

If you want the full instruction sheets for these cards, please e-mail me!
