Can you believe Halloween is right around the corner? I can’t. We are only days away from November.
My big decision this week? What kinds of candy to give out Halloween night. I seem to always overbuy so the leftovers are just hanging around waiting to be eaten. Thankfully I am not a huge fan of candy (cakes and cookies are my thing) but when the candy snacking urge hits I want it to be something that satisfies my craving. Chocolate bars, candy corn, jujubes, twizzlers – see my dilemma?
Isn’t this little witch from the Greeting Card Kids stamp set adorable? I didn’t buy alot of Halloween stamp sets this year because my kids are too old to celebrate it at school and I don’t send Halloween cards. But this stamp set is so much more than Halloween. Scroll down this blog post to see the other images in this stamp set including Christmas, Valentines and everyday.
To make this card, I stamped the little witch image onto Watercolor Paper using Black StazOn ink and then coloured the image in with aqua painters and various colours of ink.
I added a Halloween greeting from the Grateful Greetings stamp set to the Whisper White card. A strip of Wicked Fun Specialty Designer Series Paper was layered onto Old Olive cardstock. Next, I added two Old Olive Glimmer Brads along the side for a bit of bling.
Finally, I layered my stamped and coloured image onto Rich Razzleberry cardstock and added it to the card with dimensionals for a clean and simple card.

Sometimes a card comes together very easily. Sometimes it is a real struggle. Even though I was using one of my favourite colour combinations for this card and the stamping was quick, it took a really long time to create. I had a vision in my head that I just could not get to translate to the actual paper. Do you ever have stamping days like that?
I kept moving things around and changing the accessories until I got to this card. I don’t think this card will ever be an all-time favourite card but it’s okay.
I buy one stamp set a month just for fun. A stamp set that I don’t plan to use for a class or workshop or for a specific project. A stamp set that is just for me. And this month I bought this stamp set, Printed Petals. I have seen so many beautiful samples made with this card that I couldn’t wait to use it.
Since this card is not the my best example of this set, I guess I’ll need to keep stamping. And that is what I love about rubber stamping, it is quick and easy. I have not invested days, weeks or months into my cards. Only minutes so it feels good to try again and succeed. Stay tuned for another sample soon!

My Dreaming About Rubber Stamps Team got together on Saturday for a Shoebox Swap. What a blast!
In a shoebox swap, each participant puts all of the supplies to make their card or project, including stamps, inks, cardstock, etc into a small box. Then each stamper moves through the stations completing each card. Every eight minutes a bell was rung to tell everyone to move to the next station. It doesn’t sound like alot of time but because the cardstock is pre-cut you really can make cards that quickly.
This card was designed by Karen Yeomans for our swap. I wanted to share it with you today because it is a great sample using the Vintage Christmas Card Bundle that is included in the Handmade Holiday promotion that Stampin’ Up! is offering right now.
Want more information on joining Stampin’ Up! and my DARS Team of demonstrators, click here.
This bundle includes the Bells & Boughs stamp set in either clear or wood mount and the Deck the Halls Designer Series Paper at a 20 percent savings. To order this stamp set bundle in clear, it is $24.36, #124068. The wood mount stamp set bundle is $29.96, #124067.
This Bells & Boughs stamp set is really versatile and paired with the Deck the Halls paper, you can create so many Christmas cards and projects. See another card I made using this same stamp set and paper here.

Sometimes I buy a set and use it occasionally. Sometimes I buy a set and have to design every card I make around it. The Growing Green stamp set is one of those. I love this stamp set!
Inspired by a Christmas card I saw recently, I decided to create a patchwork background of the Woodland Walk designer series paper for this card. I made a card of Very Vanilla cardstock and layered onto it a piece of Garden Green cardstock. The pieces of Woodland Walk paper were cut to 1-3/4″ x 2-3/8″ and spaced evenly onto the Garden Green cardstock before adhering.
I stamped the three smallest flowers from the Growing Green stamp set in Early Espresso, Crumb Cake and Garden Green ink and added a “thank you” greeting from the Curly Cute stamp set to the Very Vanilla cardstock.
After adding two Antique Brass brads from the Metallic Brads package, I layered the stamped piece onto Crumb Cake cardstock and then onto Early Espresso cardstock with dimensionals.
Place an online order this month and you will receive this thank you card in the mail!

This video tutorial shows you how to turn the Scallop Envelope Bigz die for the Big Shot die-cutting machine into a cute box that holds three or four 3×3 gift cards.
By cutting out two Cherry Cobbler scallop envelopes, trimming and placing them back to back a wide slot is made to hold the gift cards. The box is decorated in a matching Cherry Cobbler patterned paper from the Jolly Holiday designer series paper package.
The 3×3 gift cards fit perfectly. The cards are embossed witht the Petal-a-Plenty embossing folder for the Big Shot before a “Merry Christmas” greeting from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set was added in Cherry Cobbler ink.

REMINDER: The Clearance Rack Blitz and Free Craft Tote Special both end on Monday. Don’t be disappointed!
