The kids had the day off school today so I told them they could choose where to spend the day…Galaxyland at WEM, swimming at Servus, shopping at Kingsway Mall? What did they choose? They asked to spend the day at home in their pajamas.

So, I had to get away through my stamping and I chose to go to one of my favourite places, Fifth Avenue in Manhattan! I love this Style Watch on page 9 of the catalogue and in my opinion this set is a must have. Plus, I had to try the new watercolour technique that was shown at my team meeting last week. And  I think it turned out well and was lots of fun to do.

I made a flowerpot card using Pretty in Pink, Pink Pirouette, Rose Red and Riding Hood Red re-inkers. To make the flowers, emboss white craft ine or VersaMark ink with white embossing powder on shimmery white cardstock.  Spritz very well with water. Immediately, colour with re-inkers and an aqua painter. Ink will run. Allow to dry for 20-30 minutes. Cut out.
   
Cut cardstock to 3-1/2” x 9” for pot. Score cardstock at 2" and 5 1/5".  Holding your cardstock with the 2" at the top,  fold the 2" section down and the 5 1/2" section up. The 2" section is the lip of your pot so that will be in the front of the card and the fold of your card will be at the bottom of your pot with the back of the card folded up in back. Punch the 2" section of the pot by using the Scallop Edge or Eyelet border punches.

Next, go in 1/2" from the bottom of the pot and mark. Draw a line from the mark to the scored line under th 2" section.  Repeat the process on the other side to complete the pot. If you wish, paste DSP over the base of the pot and cut it down to size.  Adhere only the flap of the card down then use ribbon to seal the pot.  For the insert, use a 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" piece of cardstock layered with piece of neutral cardstock 2 1/4" x 4 1/4". Attach cut flowers to insert ensuring card will fit into the envelope.
