For this card, I used the Faux Tile Technique to showcase the Sunflower stamp and another new In Color, Summer Starfruit.
Faux Tile is such a simple technique – score your cardstock into squares with the Simply Scored Scoring Tool (122334) or use a ruler and stylus to make similar score lines. The squares on this card are each 1". Then stamp directly onto the scored cardstock. I inked up the Sunflower background stamp (wood 123606, clear 123608) with Summer Starfruit ink and then used a sponge dauber to add Chocolate Chip re-inker to the center of the Sunflower before stamping. Since I didn’t want to contaminate my ink pad with another color, I placed a few drops of re-inker onto a plastic plate and picked the ink up with a dauber. In addition to not mixing up my inks, I also got a more consistent color and better coverage.
I added a layer of Chocolate chip card stock to the stamped image and attached a length and knot of Summer Starfruit 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon (126846) before adhering to the Summer Starfruit card.
