Have you ever been about to give up on a card you were making when it suddenly just clicked?
This card was like that. I knew the basic layout I had in mind. And I knew I wanted to double layer the vellum. And I knew I wanted to use the Remarkable You stamp set. And I knew I wanted to use embossing powder. So, what’s left?
I just couldn’t get the right colour combinations. The Basic Black and Silver Foil Sheet took a few minutes but I decided it worked (although I am second guessing myself now and wondering if I should have used Night of Navy).
But the gold? Oh, my. It feels like I tried every colour with the Gold Foil Sheet and it just wasn’t working for me. Finally, I decided I needed to use a dark colour. Blackberry Bliss it was.
This card was actually really easy to make once the colours were picked. I made the card from the new Thick Whisper White Card Stock as I knew the card would be heavy.
The layers of Gold/Silver and Blackberry Bliss/Basic Black all measure 3-3/4″ x 5″. The larger piece of Vellum is 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″. I layered this piece of Vellum on Whisper White card stock the same size to help it stand out. The Vellum greeting piece is 1-1/2″ x 3-1/4″.
I heat embossed the image and greeting with silver or gold embossing powder and finished with silver or gold sequin trim. I tried the metal buttons first but they were just “too much” for the card.
At the end of the day, the Gold and Blackberry Bliss card ended up being my fave. Please leave a comment and let me know which one you prefer.

So, which is your favourite? Silver or gold?
Beautiful cards! I love them both, but if I had to choose, I’d pick the silver card. Blackberry Bliss is my very favourite colour!
