I love these new Stampin’ Up! Treat Bags – page 158, $5.25, 5 per package. They are glossy and have a wonderful rich look to them. And, it is so easy to “take them up a notch” by adding some ribbon and a stamped accent.
Here, I tied a knot of double-stitched Real Red ribbon and attached it to the bag with a dimensional. The punched medallion was tucked in under the ribbon with a glue dot making sure the bag opens and closes easily. To make the medallion, I stamped “Joy” from the Spotlight on Christmas stamp set, $30.95, #111694, set of 6, page 30 in Chocolate Chip ink and punched with the 1″ circle punch. The stamped image was layered onto punched pieces – a red 1-1/4″ circle, a chocolate chip 1-3/8″ circle and a red scallop circle.

I cannot even remember the first time I made a Triangle Box but I do remember how easy it was to assemble. And I know I have made alot more since that first time.
Today, I used the Haunting Hill Jumbo Wheel – $9.95, #116359 – and Twick or Tweet Stamp Set – $24.95, #116497 – both on page 10 of the Holiday Mini to give my Triangle Box a Halloween theme.
For this Triangle Box, I cut my Pumpkin Pie cardstock to 4″ x 8″. However, this box can be made in a variety of sizes by
keeping the cardstock twice as long as is it wide.
Score cardstock in half at 4” on the long side. Turn cardstock and mark middle of short side at 2” with a pencil or scoring tool.
Diagonally line up the mark with the middle of the long side and score. Repeat until you have a triangles created by the scored lines. Repeat on the other side.

I wheeled the Pumpkin Pie cardstock with the Haunting Hill Jumbo Wheel and Basic Black ink. To make the tag, I stamped the little bird also with Basic Black ink and coloured the pumpkin with the Pumpkin Pie marker. Next, I punched the image with the small tag and created a layering piece from Baic Balck cardstock and the tag punch.
Fold one side in along the scored lines and punch a hole for the ribbon with the Crop-a-dile. Thread ribbon through hole. Fill box if desired. Bring in the opposite side and punch again. Thread ribbon through second hole, add tag and tie.

My “little” brother, Mark, had his birthday a couple of weeks ago and this is the card I made him. Now, really, my brother is no longer little, he is the married father of 4 great kids but I always think of think of him as the fair-haired pest that drove me crazy. Does anyone else always remember their adult brothers first as little boys?
I knew I wanted to use my Nature’s Nest stamp set, – $30.95, #113826, page 111 – on this card but beyond that I wasn’t sure what my finished card would look like. And that is not really me. I usually have a direction in my head and follow it pretty closely when making cards. I actually played with a few of the stamps and a few different colours before I hit on this idea.
I stamped the turtle with VersaMark ink onto the dotted Old Olve pattern from the Tall Tales designer series paper and embossed with clear embossing powder. Then I used a sponge to add Soft Suede ink over the embossed turtle. I found the effect of swirling ink on with a sponge to be softer than using my brayer.
After allowing the ink to dry for a few minutes during which time it lightened up a bit, I used a tissue to remove the still wet ink from the turtles. This technique is called Emboss Resist. You can also try the technique with glossy paper, coloured embossing powder and/or a brayer to change up the look.
I added two layers of ribbon at the side of the card, layering Soft Suede over Old Olive before adding some More Mustard brads. I added a knot in Soft Suede after adhering the ribbons on the back of the card.

I wanted to make a border around the Modern Label punch so I could add another More Mustard accent to my card. I punched two pieces of More Mustard cardstock and cut one in half along the length and one in half along the width.
Next, I adhered the cut pieces to my piece of white cardstock. After attaching one set as shown, I attached the second set in the other direction leaving a gap both times.
