Stampin Up Friends Never Fade and Greenhouse Gala

Sneak Peek Alert!

As a Stampin’ up! demonstrator, I can pre-order select products from the 2010-2011 New Idea Book & Catalogue that will be available in just a couple of weeks.

These two cards showcase one of the new stamps set called Friends Never Fade and a coordinating designer series paper, Greenhouse Gala. Although the layouts are the same for both cards and I used the same stamp set and paper, the finished cards are so different. Scroll down to see a closer view of each card and a few more details.

Friends Never Fade Stamp Set

My husband said this card reminded him of Wedgwood.

Using only one colour, Baja Breeze, I choose a designer series paper from Greenhouse Gala that repeats the design of the Friends Never Fade stamp. I love how Stampin’ Up! matches their products. Does Baja Breeze looks familiar to you? This was an In Color a couple of years ago now returning to the Subtles Collection of colours.

I used Whisper White grosgrain ribbon and brads to add a few more details to this card.

The new Big Shot embossing folder I used behind the strip of paper is called Vintage Wallpaper. You will definitley want to add this folder to your collection.

Friends Never Fade Stamp Set

This card has a much brighter feel to it.

The colours used here are Daffodil Delightful, Pear Pizzazz and Pumpkin Pie.  And did you notice the new 1/8″ Taffeta ribbon in Daffodil Delight?

Using another image from Friends Never Fade stamped in Daffodil Delight ink and a more colourful pattern from the Greenhouse Gala designer series paper really makes this card stand out.

Circle Circus Card

Circle Circus Card

Stampin Up Circle Circus

I have lots going on today because tonight it’s Hostess Club!  So, today’s card is quick and easy!

I layered Pretty in Pink cardstock onto a Rose Red card and then added a 2-1/4″ wide strip of  Rose Red cardstock on top of the Pretty in Pink. The 2″ wide piece of Sahara Sand cardstock was embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots folder for the Big Shot.

I added two lengths of 1/4″ grosgrain ribbon – one Rose Red and one Pretty in Pink – around the Sahara Sand before adhering it to the card.

The Rose Red stamped image is from the Circle Circus stamp set.  I love how this sets works so well with the circle punches. I punched the Very Vanilla cardstock with the 1″ punch, the Pretty in Pink cardstock with the 1-1/4″ punch and the Rose Red cardstock with the 1-3/8″ punch and attached it to the card with dimensionals.

Lastly, I added a happy birthday greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes and punched it out with the Word Window and Modern Label punches. So simple!

Presto Patterns with Friends 24/7

Presto Patterns with Friends 24/7

Presto Patterns Paper with the Friends 24/7 Stamp Set

The Presto Patterns Specialty Designer Series Papers are so versatile. You can add colour to them with ink as I did here using either a brayer, sponge or dauber. Or, you can use Smooch Spritz, Watercolor Crayons, or any other medium to add colour to the papers. They are also so pretty left white just as they are.

See another card sample here that I made using the Presto Patterns papers.

For this card, I brayered Night of Navy ink onto the checkered design in the Presto Patterns package. I then used a tissue to wipe the excess ink off the design and allow the white squares to show through better. This piece was layered onto Whisper White and Bashful Blue cardstock and then the Night of Navy card. I think the extra layers are important on this card to highlight the dark design of the Presto Patterns paper.

The Friends 24/7 stamp set image was stamped with Night of Navy ink onto Whisper white cardstock and then layered onto Night of Navy, Whisper White and Bashful Blue. I kept the same number of layers as the card front.

The greeting, also from Friends 24/7, was stamped in Night of Navy ink and punched with the 1-1/4″ circle punch. A larger cirlce was punched from Bashful Blue cardstock and adhered underneath.

For embellishments, I added a length of Bashful Blue satin ribbon and three halfback pearls from the Pretties Kit which is on the Last Chance Accessories list. I added the pearls to the left of the stamped image and the greeting to the right.

New stampers often only buy stamps and inks. Obviously, we need stamps and inks but this card shows how important accessories are to the finished card.

Happy stamping!

It’s Simple Saturday!

Except for the So Saffron cardstock and ink, all of the products used on this card will be retiring this month and are available only while supplies last.

Including the stamp set, Very Thankful. This stamp set was the Stampin’ Up! “Making a Difference” set this year which means that $2 from each set sold is donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities.

To complete this card, I also used the Flock Together designer series paper and one of my favourite ribbons, Elementary Ribbon Originals.  Click Here for an up to date list of Last Chance retiring accessories.

One Card, Two Ways – Beautiful Butterflies

One Card, Two Ways – Beautiful Butterflies

Stampin' Up! Big Shot Die - Beautiful Butterflies

It isn’t often that I can walk into my craft room and walk out 10 minutes later with two cards. And I like both of them!

That is the beauty of the Big Shot die-cut machine. It cuts shapes and makes backgrounds in no time and helps me create cards and projects effortlessly. Before I ordered the Big shot,  I wasn’t sure I would ever use it. Wrong! The Big Shot is probably the best stamping investment I have made.

For these cards, I layered Whisper White cardstock on either Melon Mambo or Tempting Turquoise cardstock and then added a third layer on top in the same colour. This top layer was embossed with the Square Lattice embossing folder.

Next, I layered a 1-3/4″ wide strip of designer series paper – Razzleberry Lemonade or Island Oasis (from the Summer Mini) onto a 2″ piece of Whisper White cardstock.

After cutting out the butterflies with the Big Shot and the Beautiful Butterflies bigz die, I layered a coloured butterfly onto a Whisper White butterfly and added a white flower button from the Button Latte pack with a mini glue dot.

Finally, I stamped the “thanks so much” greeting from the Three Little Words stamp set in the corresponding colour of ink and punched it out with the Word Window punch. I then layered it onto a Modern Label punched piece and then a piece created with the Movers & Shapers Punch Window die that is slightly larger. The greetings were attached with dimensionals.

So, do you have a favourite card? I really can’t decide.

But I know that when stamping is this fun and easy, it’s gonna be a great day!
