This Friends 24-7 card uses very simple paper piecing to highlight the bird.
I stamped the image twice – first in Early Espresso and then in Baja Breeze. The Early Espresso image was layered onto Baja Breeze and Early Espresso cardstocks. I cut out the bird from the Baja Breeze stamped piece and added it above the Early Espresso image with dimensionals.
To make the card, I stamped in Baja Breeze ink onto Baja Breeze cardstock with the Sanded background stamp. I added an Early Espresso greeting in the lower right corner. Above this I added a piece of Baja Breeze patterned paper from the Greenhouse Gala designer series paper package.
Finally, I added a length of Early Espresso 5/8″ grosgrain ribbon across the seam where the two paper meet. I tied a bow of Early Espresso ribbon and added it by the stamped image to finish the card.

Lots of dots!
This card uses the Nite Owl designer series paper from the Holiday Mini catalogue. Although this paper is featured with the other Halloween products, this card shows that it can be used for a lot of other types of cards and projects.
This would be a great “thank you” card for the men in your life or for when you need a more subdued card if you left off the glimmer brad. This card featured darker colours, Basic Black and Basic Gray, and the bright Pumpkin Pie.
I used a Basic Black marker to colour only the word “THANKS” directly on the So Many Thanks stamp. After huffing to re-moisten, I stamped onto Whisper White cardstock and punched with the oval.
The Pumpkin Pie circle on the Nite Owl designer series paper reminded me of the new Glimmer Brads so I added one on the Decorative Label punched piece.
It would be very easy to keep this layout, change up the paper and cardstock colours and change out the embellishments to make this card in any style from whimsical to elegant. And this would be a great card if you needed to make multiples. If you use this card for inspiration, please share your card with me.

There are lots of birthdays being celebrated this week and I needed cards!
I made this first card and liked the layout. But it is sort of bulky for mailing so this is going to be hand delivered to those having birthdays. So, I created a second card from the same layout that is flatter and can easily be mailed. Scroll down to see the second card.
And that’s why today’s post is One Card, Two Ways!
I cut 3″ wide pieces of paper from the Love Letter designer series paper. The piece with the sqaure boxes is 1-1/2″ tall and the baroque circle piece is 2-1/2″ tall. When layered the complete piece is 3-1/4″ tall. I used the corner rounder punch on the top corners and added a Very Vanilla dotted scallop ribbon border punched piece along the bottom. To cover the meeting of the two papers, I added a length of Very Vanilla 1/4″ grosgrain ribbon.
The flower was made from 8 punched scallop circles using a black design from the same Love Letter paper. After scrunching up the punches and layering them, I added an Antique brad to the center. I love these brads!
The “Happy Birthday” greeting from the Curly Cute stamp set was stamped onto Very Vanilla cardstock with Riding Hood Red ink. I made a flag tail on the end and then attached it to the card with dimensionals, weaving it just a little bit as I adhered it.

Paper: Love Letter Designer Series Paper (117162), Riding Hood Red (111348), Basic Black (121045), Very Vanilla (101650), Crumb Cake (120953)
Punches: Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border (119275), 1-3/4″ Scallop Circle (119854), 3/16″ Corner Rounder (119871)
Other: Antique Brads (117273), Very Vanilla 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon (109026), Stampin Dimensionals (104430)

One this second card, I substituted the punched flower for layered circle punches.
I punched a 2-3/4″ Scallop Circle and a 1-1/4″ Circle from Basic Black cardstock. I layered these with a 1-3/4″ Circle and a 1″ Circle punched from the Love Letter designer series paper. Since this punched piece was wider, I also moved the greeting to the right an inch or so.
So, which card is your favourite? #1 with the punched flower or #2 with the punched circles. Please leave a comment below and let me know.

This may be the simplest card I have ever made!
One stamped image, “happy I do day” from the Word Play stamp set and a medium rhinestone as the diamond on the ring. The smaller piece of Whisper White cardstock is 3″ x 4-1/4″ and the Basic Black cardstock is 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″
And that’s it! A super simple card that can be easily adapted to the colours of the wedding.
This Word Play stamp set is fun! The greetings are not your usual and are all presented with inventive designs. These are more than just greetings. As I did with this card, you can design an entire card around the greeting alone.

I have become a big fan of the clear mount stamps since Stampin’ Up! introduced them and rarely purchase wood mount stamp sets anymore. I love the easy storage, the ability to add multiple images to one block and and of course, the fact the stamp sets are less expensive so I can buy more of them. Re-invest the dollars you save on the first few stamp sets on the clear blocks. After a short time, you will have all the blocks you need and will continue to save money.
Come on over to Facebook and vote for your favourite way to mount stamps? Clear or Wood.
For this Technique Tuesday, I want to show you another great use for the clear blocks – Shadow Stamping. Did you know that you can stamp direct to paper with the blocks? Too cool! Try using different sizes and shapes of blocks on all of your stamping cards and projects.
See the step by step instructions below.

Click on the Clear Mount Block Template above to have a reference of the different block sizes.
I recommend printing this page onto vellum, acetate or copy paper so you can place it over an image to see what size of block is needed.

You will need a clean, Clear block, Classic ink and cardstock.
My block is size “A”.

Ink up the Clear Block by tapping on the ink pad a few times as you would with a stamp.

Apply the block direct to paper.
You can stamp off once onto scrap paper if the shadow is too dark.

The stamped blocks.
