Texture Chic Card Pack
Did you know that today, July 12th is National Simplicity Day? In honor of the day, I thought I would share a simple card. This card really is super simple cardmaking at its best. I can’t even say stamping because the greeting was already included.
When flipping through the catalogue, you may have gone right by the Memories & More products on page 136 of the Annual Catalogue. But this page isn’t just for scrapbookers. When you’re feeling short on creativity, don’t have a lot of time or want to craft on the move, the Texture Chic Memories & More Card Pack is a great option. The Card Pack includes 50 cards: 2 each of 18 double-sided designs cut to 3” x 4” and 2 each of 7 double-sided designs cut to 4″ x 6″ plus 4 sticker sheets. That means there are lots of designs to add to the note cards plus extras for layering. Included with the Cards & Envelopes are 20 note cards with envelopes.
To make this card, all I did was trim one of the pre-printed cards down to a square and then added it to the card with dimensionals. The envelope already has the gold details embossed onto it so there’s no decorating required. I did add a bow tied with the Petal Pink 3/8″ Soft Polyester Ribbon and a few of the Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels. These two accessories coordinate so well with colours in the card pack.

Hippest Hippos and Hippos Dies – It’s a Freebie1
Hippest Hippos Free during Sale-a-Bration. Can you believe it’s time for Sale-a-Bration 2.0?
To start the celebration, I made this hippo card recently for a first birthday. This water loving hippo is all geared up and ready for his dive.
I stamped the hippo with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto Thick Basic White cardstock and then coloured him in with the Gray Granite Blends. I cut him out with the matching die and used other dies from the set to cut out his hat and snorkeling equipment as well. As cute as the Hippest Hippo set is, It’s the little accessories that really make this set a lot of fun.
I am really pleased with how the galvanized tub turned out. I cut the tub out of Crumb Cake cardstock and then used the VersaMark ink pad to tap ink directly onto the die cut piece. One the tub was covered in ink, I added silver powder from the Metallics Embossing Power pack on top and used my Heat Tool to melt the powder. The texture helps give the rub a realistic look. By the way, did you see that the Embossing Additions Tool Kit is now available?
The background is made from the 2022-2024 In Color 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper Assortment in Parakeet Party, Tahitian Tide and Sweet Sorbet, the same colours I used throughout this card. My last step was to add a few Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels. These gems go with everything.
The circle and square were made with the Stylish Shapes Dies. If you don’t already have these dies, get them now. I use them all the time and highly recommend this set. If you don’t have a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, the mini machine is available as an Easy Entry Bundle with this set of dies. And if you buy the bundle, you can get the Hippest Hippo stamp set and Hippos dies free.

Eclectic Garden
Eclectic Garden makes it easy to add a pop of colour. With “Two-Step Stampin’”, you can layer two or more images to create one final image in the colours you want. Plus there is a special texture to the images adding depth and dimension.

I stamped the bird in black with StazOn ink and then added Bermuda Bay and Pear Pizzazz ink using two-step stamping. This is the simplest way to add colour as the stamps are designed and sized to fill in the outline.
The Basic White cardstock measures 3″ wide by 3-1/4″ high and is layered onto a piece of Basic Black that is 3-1/4″ x 3-1/2″. The greeting was stamped directly onto the card base .
This card is similar to the first except the I added a band across the card under the image for the greeting. Since the Rich Razzleberry card stock is darker, the greeting would not show up as well on just the card base.
The berries were stamped with black Staz On ink onto Basic White card stock measuring 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ square and then over stamped in Rich Razzleberry and Pear Pizzazz. This piece was then layered onto Basic Black card stock 3″ x 3″ square. The greeting was stamped on Basic White card 1-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and then layered onto Basic Black card stock 1-1/2″ x 5-1/2″. Both pieces were then added to the card base with a few Matte Black Dots to embellish the card just a little.

My favorite colour is green! I love all of the various shades but in real life it is always Chartreuse first which I think translates to Granny Apple Green for my fave with Stampin’ Up!

I kept it simple for these cards. After folding the card base, I added card stock cut to 1-3/4″ x 4-1/4″ and then added designer series paper cut to 1-1/2″ x 4″. When designing a card, try to choose sizes of designer series paper that can be cut with very little waste if you want to make multiples. For this card, the paper can be cut to 4″ x 12″ and then sized down to make 8 pieces.
A foil wave was added to the card first and then a greeting stamped onto one of the label die cuts. I adhered the wave with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and the label with Dimensionals. To finish, add a trio of rhinestones in a colour to match the card. Easy peasy.
Although the stamp set and dies are an early release from the upcoming Annual Catalogue, the paper, foils and rhinestones are only available while supplies last.
