Color & Contour with Fresh Freesia

Color & Contour in Fresh Freesia

Color & Contour Card with Fresh Freesia

This Color & Contour card in Fresh Freesia ended up being so simple to stamp and put together.

The new catalogue bundle that I used for this card – the Color & Contour stamp set and Scalloped Contour Dies – includes 13 stamps as well as 8 dies and is quickly becoming a favourite that I reach for often.

To make this card, I stamped three flowers and three buds onto Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper using  Black StazOn ink. Then I added colour to the flowers using the Fresh Freesia and Soft Succulent refills and the Water Painters. To achieve a watercolor look, leave some white showing when adding colour.

After cutting out the flowers with a die and the smaller buds free hand with scissors, I created the rest of the card front.

I coloured the stamped leaves in Soft Succulent again using the Water Painters and added the splatter image to fill in some of the white space on the card. I kept everything in threes – the flowers, buds, splatters and leaves.

After adding the Basic Back scallop piece to the Whisper White card, I adhered the cut out images with dimensionals.

After assembling the card, I added a few Matte Black Dots for extra appeal.

And can we talk about the greetings in this stamp set for just a minute? I love the mixed fonts and the slightly larger size of the greetings and how amazing they look.

Now that I have the layout of this card completed, it will be easy to make again and again in other colors. I plan to start with another of my favourite new In Colors, Pale Papaya and continue on from there.

I adhered all the die cut pieces – the peach, leaves and banner greeting – with dimensionals. All of these dies are included in the bundle and the banner frame fits multiple greetings. Pairing the smaller font greeting with the larger greeting in different colours really makes the message stand out.

Sweet As A Peach

You’re A Peach Envelope Flap

To cover the flap of the envelope, cut a piece of designer series paper to 2-1/4″ x 6″. Adhere the paper to the envelope flap and then trim off the excess paper with scissors. I opted to use the same Pear Pizzazz brushstroke design from the card.

Just Want to Say Card – Art Gallery

Just Want to Say with Art Gallery

Just Want to Say Card

Just Want to Say Card – Art Gallery

No matter what you “just want to say”, the Art Gallery stamp set and Floral Gallery dies bundle has a greeting that expresses the right sentiment. Sorry, thank you, I miss you, good luck, Best Wishes, You are Lovely, Congratulations, I’m Thinking of You and Happy Birthday. This stamp set has them all. Plus some breathtakingly gorgeous florals to go with.

I have a secret weakness for pink and orange. It’s a crazy combination but I love the two colours together. This card uses Stampin’ Up! faves, Flirty Flamingo and Pumpkin Pie.

Rather than layer the two flower images together as usual, I stamped only the larger flower. I really like how more white around the flower made the words stand out a bit more. The stem was stamped in Old Olive.

I added dimensionals behind the flower as well as the Happy Birthday frame to add some height to the card.

Don’t miss out!

Wild Roses Background Stamp

Blended Inks

After stamping the image onto Whisper White card stock using VersaMark ink, I heat embossed the stamped image with white embossing powder. Next, I applied four colors of ink with Blending Brushes. From left to right the colours are Soft Suede, Bermuda Bay, Pear Pizzazz and Mango Melody.

To finish the card I used dimensionals to add the greeting which was heat embossed onto Basic Black card stock.

The card base is 8-1/2″ by 5-1/2″ folded in half. The Basic Black layer is 4-7/8″ x 3-5/8″ and the top Whisper white layer measures 4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″. Finally, the Basic Black greeting piece is 1-5/8″ x 4″.

Welcome A Baby with Hippo Happiness

Hippo Happiness Baby Cards

Welcome A Baby with Hippo Happiness

Did you ever think that attending a baby shower via Zoom would be a thing? Although we aren’t celebrating like we used to, I still wanted to take a moment and create a welcome baby card for the new parents.  And hope that greeting the baby in person will happen in the near future.

And aren’t the animals included in the Hippo Happiness stamp set adorable? If hippos don’t bring you happiness, you can choose a sheep, a horse or even a unicorn to add to your cards.

Hippo Happiness Stamp Set and Hippo & Friends Dies

Hippo Happiness Baby Card Hippo

The dies that are included in Hippo & Friends Dies also include some frames that I used on both of these cards. There are three unique shapes with multiple layers to each shape.

Used with the included animals or on their own, these frame dies make easy backgrounds for cards by matching the card stock layer or contrasting as below.

I wanted this card to be bright and colorful so I selected Gorgeous Grape, Bermuda Bay and Granny Apple Green. for my stamped images and card stock. For the hippo, I stamped the body and then stamped off once for the face allowing for the fainter color.

Hippo Happiness Baby Card Sheep

The colors used for this card are Smoky Slate, Misty Moonlight and Bumblebee. A little more subtle than the hippo but this friendly sheep still stands out. Especially with the balloons. All the little accents – balloons, butterflies, a flower and more – add so much fun to making cards with this stamp set.

I added some Neutrals 6″ x 6″ designer series paper and assorted greetings from the Well Said stamp set and Well Written Dies to complete this card.
