I have been stamping a long time now – almost 15 years. And the one thing I am still not real good at is cutting out stamped images.
(Okay, okay, I know there is way more than one thing I am not good at but for the sake of my self esteem let’s stick to one a day, shall we?!)
I would never have even attempted a card like this if I needed to cut out each image as they would have look uneven and choppy. Punches to the rescue!
With this new Christmas Collectibles Bundle (Save 15% Wood $38.95 133282 Clear $33.95 133283) I can stamp and punch and get perfect results every time. Love it!
The Whisper White cardstock was embossed with the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder and adhered to an Old Olive card. The “Noel” is from Greetings of the Season (Wood $19.95 128030, Clear $14.95 128033) and the ornaments are stamped in Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake and Old Olive ink.
I added a bow of Whisper White Baker’s Twine to two of the punched ornaments and thought I was finished. But the card look really flat so I added a few Pearl Basic Jewels (on sale right now!) to the card and it made all the difference.
So, I gotta ask – do you like cutting out stamped images or do you prefer to let punches and framelits do the work?

Now this is the kind of snow day I like, the paper one! Pretty ironic for someone who lives in North America’s largest northern city where winter lasts waaaay longer than the three months the calendar schedules for it.
There is something so friendly about this snow man and the ability to “build” him by adding a nose, eye, buttons, scarf and more. Snow Day (Wood $32.95 131892, Clear $22.95 131895) is a set of 12 so there are lots of accessories to stamp with in addition to the snowman and the curvy greeting.
For this card, I stamped the snowman in Whisper White craft ink and allowed the image to dry for a couple of minutes. I added the the rest of him in Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler and Tangerine Tango inks. The card is Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler with big polka dot paper from the Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack. Love the size and price of this paper stack – 48 sheets: 2 each of 24 card sized two-sided designs for $8.50.
A length of Cherry Cobbler 1″ Stitched Edge Grosgrain Ribbon and the curvy “warm wishes” greeting and my card was finished.
