Let me introduce you to my new favourite SAB free item – the Glimmer Paper Assortment Pack. Included are 12 sheets: 4 each of 3 colours sized 6″ x 6″. The colours included are Bermuda Bay, Mint Macaron and Sweet Sugarplum.
Since there is so much wonderful glimmer and shine on the paper, I decided to choose Crumb Cake cardstock as a neutral to really highlight the colours.
The layered Crumb Cake piece needed a little something so I embossed it with the Festive Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
The “Happy Birthday” greeting was stamped with Bermuda Bay ink onto Vellum with a Whisper White cardstock layer behind it to help the words stand out. The edge was fishtailed using the Triple Banner Punch.
The Stylish Stems Framelits Dies for the Big Shot make pretty flowers and leaves like these with little effort even when using the glimmer paper.

Today I wanted to make a Valentines card for my hubby. I can’t believe that this will be our 26th year celebrating the day together.
The card needed to have a masculine touch so I decided to focus on Crumb Cake and Real Red and stay away from pinks.
The two hearts were made with the Sweet & Sassy Framelits Dies. Did you notice that the hearts are slightly different shapes? This set has 15 dies offering several different sizes and shapes of hearts.
I wet the larger heart with water and a Spritzer and then crumpled it up. After opening, I let it dry completely before adding it to the card.
I added the smaller heart with a Mini Glue Dot and then added lengths of twine from the Burlap ribbon. Cut the ribbon to the length you need and then pull out the individual pieces of twine to use on the card.
The greeting is from the Bloomin’ Love stamp set stamped in Real Red ink.

I stamped over and over with the hearts from the Perpetual Birthday Calendar stamp set. Don’t overlook this set as it is for so much more than calendars. It makes all kinds of backgrounds and textures including stars, dots, blotches, leaves, suns and more.

One of my favourite stamp sets to use for masculine cards is Country Livin’. You can make “keep it simple” cards like the one above or “step it up” like the one below.
The simple card features the old truck image and Hardwood stamped in Early Espresso ink with cardstock in Real Red, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Whisper White.
Two Brights Enamel Shapes (the red dots) complete the card.
A set of three, Country Livin’ has just the right image for making cards for the men in your life.
Want to step up the card? Stamp the truck using Basic Black Archival ink and then add color using an Aqua Painter. The colors I used are Real Red, Smoky Slate, Crumb Cake, Wild Wasabi and Old Olive.
After cutting a length of Burlap Ribbon, I pulled out the fibers to use as twine.

I have to confess to a weakness for ice cream. I love it. My favourite flavours are Pralines & Cream, Cherry and Chocolate Caramel Cup. Yum!

This card was made with another bundle from the 2017 Occasions catalogue which starts on Wednesday. I know this bundle will be popular so if it’s on your list, order early.
The Window Shopping Bundle includes the Window Shopping stamp set – lots of greetings and backgrounds – as well as the Window Box Thinlits Dies. The dies make an amazing Window Box (obviously!) as well as fun cards and projects. These thinlits have lots of detail and are perfect for any occasion.
I made this first card vertically and included the Falling in Love designer series paper. I love the soft, neutral colours in this paper.
And then I had a change of heart and made the second card below.
This card is exactly the same except the layout is horizontal.
