Stampin Up Going Global Card

It’s so easy to reach for a stamp set with flowers, add one of my favorite colours like Rose Red or Bermuda Bay and make my card. But sometimes you need a card for the men in your life and this week I actually needed two.

I sat down to stamp and was joined by my daughter, Alex. We each made one card using the Going Places suite of products – “explore trendy, masculine textures with travel-inspired designs.”

This suite includes the Going Global stamp set, Going Places designer series paper stack and World Traveler Embossing Folder.

Crystal Effects Going Global Card

I cut a square of Crumb Cake card stock to go under the compass and wet it thoroughly before scrunching it together. Open up and allow it to dry to get the wrinkled look.

I stamped the compass three times. The first I circle punched and colored with Lost Lagoon ink before applying a light layer of Crystal Effects. The other two I colored with Basic Gray ink and then cut out with scissors before applying the Crystal Effects. Allow all the pieces to dry before assembling with an Antique Brad in the middle.

Going Global Washi Tape Card

This card uses similar products to the first card including the same Going Global stamp set, World Traveler Embossing Folder and Going Places Designer Series Paper Stack.  Alex also used the Everyday Chic Washi Tape along the top of the card.

The colors on this card are Smoky Slate, Basic Black and Crushed Curry.

Going Global Stamp Set with Washi

The greeting piece was punched with the Triple Banner Punch at either end. The center of the compass is a black candy dot from the Neutrals Candy Dots package.

Remarkable You In Color 2014-2016 Card

This card was made with some of the 2014-2016 In Colors which include Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon and Tangelo Twist. And the Remarkable You stamp set.

I stamped the image with Basic Black Archival ink and then colored it in with an Aqua Painter and inks. I am so happy with the vibrant color on this card.

With the new catalogue arriving June 1st, the 2014-2016 In Colors will be retiring. And every year some customers wait too long and don’t purchase the products before they are gone. And then it’s too late.

So consider this your early warning system and stock up now. If you have the ink pads, get the refills.
Buy more card stock, get the accessories. And if you have never purchased any of these colours you can still buy the bundle.  Do it today so you won’t be disappointed.

Helping Me Grow is growing on me

Helping Me Grow Watercolor Card

I think that what I love about adding water to cards is that no two are the same. The water takes over and adds its own unique imprint to the card.

No matter how many you make each card is just a little different . There is a certain excitement in knowing that the final product is just a bit beyond your control. You are taking a chance with the finished image by allowing an element to take over and define the end result. Let’s just call it stamping drama. And it’s really the only drama I’m looking for in my day.

To create this card I coloured directly onto the stamp with Island Indigo and Wild Wasabi markers and then stamped onto Shimmery White card stock. I then spritz water onto the card to add the watercolour effect. it’s best to spritz lightly and allow the water to work its magic for a few moments. You can always add more water but you can’t fix the puddly mess. Ask me how I know.

Once the Helping Me Grow stamp set image has dried completely, it’s time to put the card together. To embellish, I used the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack and Everyday Chic Designer Washi Tape.

Give watercolor a chance today and see what you can create.
