I have seen so many beautiful mixed media cards lately that I wanted to give it a try. I love the mix of textures, inks and collage on this card.
The colors on this card are Rose Red, Pink Pirouette and Basic Gray. I had originally used the more traditional green leaves for the card but this version actually looks much better.
I get so much use from the Crazy About You Bundle that includes the stamp set and the Hello You Thinlits. Have you ordered yours yet? I also added the leaf from the Rose Garden Thinlits.
After adding a watercolor wash background using the two pinks, I added all the cut outs including some Bitty Butterfly punches.

I tore the edge of both the top layer of the card and circle for added dimension. I also used an Aqua Painter to add Basic Gray to the leaves.

Using the same products for each of these three cards, you can see how easy it is to step up a card from super simple to a little more advanced.
This first card is my 5 minute card and that really is all the time it took to make. A super simple card in black and white with only the greeting stamped.
For each of these cards, the Bitty Butterfly punch does the work supported by the Pretty Petals designer series paper stack, rhinestones and the Triple Banner Punch.
I used a different pattern or two for each card showcasing the versatility of this paper. For card making, I think small consisent patterns often work best and this paper stack has lots to pick from.

This card would be a 10 minute card. Still very simple and no stamping at all. It took a few minutes with the Stampin’ Trimmer to cut the paper at an angle and then it was just time to assemble the card. All of the guides and measurements on the trimmer make the task straight forward.
And finally the 15 minute card. I added a background of Silver Thread to the card to dress if up a bit more. It did take a few minutes to align the butterflies and add the rhinestones.
I found it worked best to place all Basic Black butterflies on the card first and then add a second layer of punched paper butterflies with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I haven’t felt very creative lately so I knew it was time to get stamping. If you’ve been following my blog for awhile, you know my love of black and white cards. But I just needed to add some color.
Since I wanted to make a stack of these cards to have on hand, adding the color needed to be quick and easy. So I decided to add color with the spritzer.
I’m really happy with this card and the way all the elements came together. For complete instructions, see the PDF below.
I spritzed this card with Daffodil Delight, Watermelon Wonder and Tangerine Tango for the background pop of color.

This card uses the Party Pants stamp set with Mint Macaron and Smoky Slate card stocks.
A really quick card with just a touch of bling including the It’s My Party Enamel Dots.
For each card, I used the same basic layout and just changed it up with one vertical and one horizontal card. Do you have a preference for one style over the other?

For this card, I stamped the bicycle from the Pedal Pusher stamp set onto Shimmery White card stock and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder.
I then watercolored over the stamped image with an Aqua Painter and inks.
The black paper from Color Me Irresistible and Bermuda Bay Baker’s Twine complete the card.
This watercolored card in Bermuda Bay, Wild Wasabi and Island Indigo also features the new white Glitter Tape.

Just like the right accessories can make an outfit look finished, the right embellishments can make a card extra special.
And if you use the Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit you’ll have everything you need. For this card, I used the satin ribbon, pearl trim and sequins from the kit with the Bloomin’ Love stamp set and Bloomin’ Hearts Thinlits Dies bundle. The beautifully detailed large heart was cut out of Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper.
I created a background of Basic Gray and Blushing Bride with the Timeless Textures stamp set and choose card stock in the same colours for the card. This stamp set is absolutely a must have for creating backgrounds by layering the images or choosing a single image to be the focus of the card. I love the variety of images in this set of 9.
A “Love You” greeting cut out and attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals finishes the card.
