As I woke up to a little snow this morning, today seems like the right day to post this card.
This card features a friendly snowman and was simple to make. I stamped the snow man from the Snow Place stamp set and then added his hat which was cut out with the Snow Friends Framelits. These two products are available as a bundle and the framelits are one of the weekly deals.
I used the Triple Banner Punch to notch the ends of the Real Red, Basic Black and Thick Whisper White card stocks. I love the new thick card stock for card bases and because it makes such a great paper for use with the embossing folders including the Softly Falling Textured Embossing Folder I used for this card.
I cut the greeting into three pieces and added them one below the other to finish the card.
I used a red Sharpie permanent marker to color the rhinestones for this card.

I had a conversation recently with a fellow stamper about knowing when to stop. There is a definite line that we often cross when it comes to embellishments. And I was reminded of that conversation when finishing the card. Did I cross the line?
For this version of the card. I stamped the snowflakes and greetings from the Flurry of Wishes stamp set in Basic Gray Archival ink. Then I over stamped with an image from Gorgeous Grunge in Pool Party, Mint Macaron and Lost Lagoon. I am absolutely falling in love all over again with the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set. This is the one stamp set that I never put away because it works with so many cards.
The card stock layers are Basic Gray and Mint Macaron.
To finish, I added lots of embellishments. Too many, maybe?
To embellish this card, I added Iced Rhinestones, Home for Christmas Enamel Dots, Pool Party Candy Dots and Rhinestone Basic Jewels. I also used Shimmery White card stock.
But is it too much bling?
This is the simple stamps, ink and paper only card version. If you need to make lots of cards this year for Christmas, this is a great option. The Lost Lagoon on this card is darker as I didn’t stamp it off once first as I thought this card needed the extra burst of color.

I decided to treat myself to a few new stamps from the Holiday Catalogue including this one, Dove of Peace. I love the detail on the dove and the verse of scripture that serves as the greeting. It’s a versatile stamp and a bargain at $17. I carefully cut off the greeting and mounted it separately on the other side of the wood block so the two images can be used one at a time.
I stamped with VersaMark ink onto Gold Foil paper and heat embossed with Silver Embossing Powder. Then I cutout a square frame for the dove with the Squares Collections Framelits Dies.
The greeting was stamped with the Basic Black Archival Ink and punched with the Triple Banner Punch. Also on the greeting piece are are Gold Metallic Thread, Silver Satin Ribbon and Basic Black Stitched Satin Ribbon as well as a Gold Metal Button.
I layered a piece of Silver Foil paper as a layer the Basic Black card stock before assembling all of the pieces of the finished card.
I love using metallics like gold and silver on my cards. Especially at Christmas time. But I hate taking a picture of the cards because they always have strange shadows and marks. The next photo shows the card a bit better and shows that the weird dots around the dove are actually not really there.
I mixed and matched gold and silver embellishments like buttons, ribbon, and thread to keep the metallic theme on the greeting.

I woke up to a few flakes of snow falling this morning so this card is definitely in season.
It’s so easy to make cards when a great background like the Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder does the work. I added a few snowflakes from the Among the Branches stamp set in Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and Island Indigo as well as an easy greeting and I was done.
This bright greeting medallion stamp from Among the Branches was stamped on Whisper White card stock with Bermuda Bay ink.
A really simple version in Early Espresso and Crumb Cake using only Early Espresso ink. The leaves from the Among the Branches stamp set were punched with layered circles of card stock.
I love how the candy dots tied the other elements together on the card.

Need a fall or winter note card? The Joyful Season stamp set helps you make a pretty one.
This cardinal (I think?!) takes center stage on the card when framed with the Circles Collection Framelits. I embossed the Whisper White card stock with the Softly Falling Textured Embossing Folder and added a piece of paper from the Season of Cheer Designer Series Paper in front of it. The card base is Early Espresso.
The inks I used are Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler and Delightful Dijon for the beak.
To keep the nature theme, I added Burlap Ribbon and a Classy Designer button tied with Linen Thread to finish the card.
The Joyful Season stamp set comes with all of the stamps needed to color the bird and berries on the branch.
Add a greeting and the note card is a Christmas card.

To make the colorful card. I added inks to my stamp with a dauber. The stamp is from Flowering Flourishes and the rainbow of colors are Elegant Eggplant, Melon Mambo, Real Red, Daffodil Delight and Bermuda Bay.
When applying the inks, be sure to overlap them just a bit to blend the colors and prevent any harsh lines.
I colored the rhinestones with Sharpie markers to match the Stampin’ Up! colors they are closest to on the flowers.
The “thank you” greeting is from the Sassy Salutation stamp set and was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.
