Blackberry Bliss Watercolor Wings

Blackberry Bliss Watercolor Wings

Watercolor Wings Bundle in Blackberry Bliss

Another clean and simple card monochromatic card – this time using the Watercolor Wings stamp set and Bold Butterfly Framelit Dies. These two items are available as a bundle so you save 15% over buying them separately.

The papers are a base of Thick Whisper White, Blackberry Bliss card stock, Corrugated White and Whisper White card stocks. I really like the texture that the corrugated papers add to my cards and projects.

I used the Triple Banner punch to add a fishtail to the Fluttering embossing folder to match the greeting. The butterfly background piece was made with the 1-3/8″ and 1-3/4″ circle punches.

Rhinestones add the finishing touch to the card.

Simple Saturday with Perpetual Birthday

Simple Saturday with Perpetual Birthday

Perpetual Birthday Calendar Stamp Set Cards

Simple Saturday is all about clean and simple cards that can be made in ten minutes or less. And as a bonus today, all three of these cards were ready in no time.

I love my Perpetual Birthday Calendar Project Kit and coordinating Perpetual Birthday Calendar stamp set. To get even more value from the stamp set, I wanted to use it to create some cards.

I stamped a single image in one colour of ink to make monochromatic cards. With the Triple Banner Punch, I added card stock banners in the same colour with a greeting from the One Big Meaning stamp set.

Need a bunch of quick cards? Give these a try.

Silver or Gold? Remarkable You

Silver or Gold? Remarkable You

Remarkable You Gold Card

Have you ever been about to give up on a card you were making when it suddenly just clicked?

This card was like that. I knew the basic layout I had in mind. And I knew I wanted to double layer the vellum. And I knew I wanted to use the Remarkable You stamp set. And I knew I wanted to use embossing powder. So, what’s left?

I just couldn’t get the right colour combinations. The Basic Black and Silver Foil Sheet took a few minutes but I decided it worked (although I am second guessing myself now and wondering if I should have used Night of Navy).

But the gold? Oh, my. It feels like I tried every colour with the Gold Foil Sheet and it just wasn’t working for me. Finally, I decided I needed to use a dark colour. Blackberry Bliss it was.

This card was actually really easy to make once the colours were picked. I made the card from the new Thick Whisper White Card Stock as I knew the card would be heavy.

The layers of Gold/Silver and Blackberry Bliss/Basic Black all measure 3-3/4″ x 5″. The larger piece of Vellum is 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″. I layered this piece of Vellum on Whisper White card stock the same size to help it stand out. The Vellum greeting piece is 1-1/2″ x 3-1/4″.

I heat embossed the image and greeting with silver or gold embossing powder and finished with silver or gold sequin trim. I tried the metal buttons first but they were just “too much” for the card.

At the end of the day, the Gold and Blackberry Bliss card ended up being my fave. Please leave a comment and let me know which one you prefer.

The designer series paper used on this card is Everyday Chic. All black and white designs, this package of paper has fabulous patterns like the one I used for my card. Next, I created a tag with the Lots of Labels framelits

To the tag, I added a length of Basic Black 3/8″ Striped Satin Ribbon held in place with a staple and some White Perfect Accents coloured with a black permanent marker.

I stamped the flower in StazOn Black ink and coloured it in with Mint Macaron and Smoky Slate inks and an Aqua Painter. Once dry, I added Dazzling Diamonds Glitter with the 2-Way Glue Pen

I love black and white cards and this one just might be a new favourite.

For this card, I stamped the flowers and butterfly from the Garden in Bloom stamp set in Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight and Pink Pirouette inks.

The card stock is also Tangerine Tango with a layer of Daffodil Delight and Whisper White card stock each 1/4″ smaller on each side than the last.

I cut the stamped piece with the Tiny Wave Cutting Blade before stamping the greeting between the two pieces.

Lastly, I added an Elegant Butterfly punched piece and added Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

I really like the vibrant colours on this card and the rhinestone embellishments.

A party hat wearing triceratops? Yes, really!

The No Bones About It stamp set is great for making kids cards and more. I needed a gift bag for a small gift today for my nephew and decided this stamp set would be perfect.

I reach for my Kraft Tag a Bag Gift Bags often. They are perfect for small items and gift cards and can be used plain or dressed up with stamped images.

For the card, I used the Bohemian Designer Series Paper and the matching colours of Bermuda Bay, Island Indigo and Rich Razzleberry.

I added a length of Very Vanilla thick Baker’s Twine and a Rich Razzleberry Button to complete the card.
