Re-introducing … Blushing Bride. After an absence, this colour has returned to the Subtles Collection as part of the colour refresh.
I partnered it here with Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Whisper White. I wanted to make the Crepe Filter Paper flowers the focal point of the card so I kept it simple. On top of the layer of Blushing Bride card stock, I added a bold greeting in “Thanks So Much” from the Oh, Hello stamp set cut out with a Label Collection framelit. A paper ribbon of Early Espresso card stock notched at the end completes the card except for the flowers.
The Crepe Filter Paper flowers have a large pearl center and lots of texture and height. Scroll down to see how the flowers were made.

Stamps: Oh, Hello (Wood 130730, Clear 130733)
Ink: Early Espresso (126974)
Paper: Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake (120953), Early Espresso (119686), Whisper White (100730)
Big Shot: Secret Garden Framelits (129372), Fancy Fan Embossing Folder (127751), Labels Collection Framelits (125598)
Other: Crepe Filter Paper (129393), Brads, Large Pearl Basic Jewels (125577)

I used two different flower shapes from the Secret Garden framelit – the smallest flower and the daisy.
To finish the flowers, I adhered a large pearl on top of the brad.

I cut out 8 flowers at one time with the Secret Garden framelit and then separated the flowers.
Then I crumpled each flower individually. Next, I opened up each flower and layered them slightly offset.

With the paper piercing tool and pierce mat, make a hole through all of the layers and insert a brad to hold the layers in place.

The look of tissue paper with the strength of card stock. Fun to stamp, dye, ink, punch, or stitch. 12 total sheets: 4 rectangles (ea. 6″ x 12″) and 8 circles (ea. 6″ diam.).

Have you tried the Painter’s Tape Technique yet? Chances are you may already have Painter’s Tape at home and this is a quick, simple, no mess way to create a colourful background. If you need to purchase some, you can find Painter’s Tape at any hardware store. It may be green or blue in color and has a light adhesive that makes it easily removable whether on painted walls or on card stock.
See the step by step instructions below.
I wanted to play with the new 2013-2015 In Colors some more so it was easy to decide what colors to use for this card. From left to right are Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush and Baked Brown Sugar.
I decided to leave a gap between each strip and at the edge but you could layer them closer together. It is actually easy to see the ink on the Painter’s Tape and decide where to place each piece.
The stamp set I used for this card is Summer Silhouettes. I know I am guilty of often overlooking this stamp set. A set of 9 it includes various leaf and flower silhouettes as well as a very functional border image to add finesse to cards stamped with this set.

Place a torn strip of Painter’s Tape across the ink pad sticky side down.
Lightly press on the tape to pick up the ink.

Place the Painter’s Tape onto the card stock and press on it again to transfer the ink to the paper.

Gently peel the tape from the card stock. You can remove the tape as you add each colour or place all of them and remove them together.
The tape can be used again.

Design unique cards with this nine-piece stamp set featuring beautifully rendered flower and leaf silhouettes. Great for spring, summer, or even fall. Perfect for embellishing scrapbook pages–or for creating one-of-a-kind tags!

Note that the Summer Silhouettes stamp set is now retired.

This is the second wedding shower card I needed this week. The featured colour for this wedding is yellow so I decided to pair So Saffron with Basic Gray and the new Smoky Slate. Don’t the two grays make an awesome monochromatic combination?
The shoes are from the Just Married stamp set and the greeting from the Delightful Dozen greeting set.
My starting point for this card was the stamped squares of “his’ and “her” shoes. I stamped “his” in Basic Gray and “hers” in Smoky Slate and then layered them onto the opposite colour of gray card stock. I thought it needed something more so I kept adding layers including the bottom layer punched with the Scallop Trim Border punch.
I also created layers on the card itself including So Saffron card stock embossed with the Fancy Fan folder for the Big Shot.
After adding the “congratulations” greeting, I embellished the card with a bow of Basic Gray 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon and lots of the smallest Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
Having seen both bridal shower cards, which do you prefer?

Sometimes I can see a card in my head but I can’t get it to work on paper. Sometimes I can see the card in my head and get it onto paper but it takes a lot of thought and effort. And sometimes, I can see a card in my head and get it made just as I wanted it in no time. Today’s card was one of those rare cards.
The colour selection was made for me. I have a bridal shower tonight and Rich Razzleberry is close to the wedding colour.
I made a criss cross background with the Simply Scored Scoring Tool and the additional Simply Scored Diagonal Plate. What a simple way to add a textured background to the card using only Whisper White card stock.
Next, I stamped the dress image with Rich Razzleberry ink. It needed something more in the corner so I added the flowers. The greeting is on a piece of card stock 1/2″ wide to fit between the rows of Pearl Basics.
I adhered the dress image and greeting with dimensionals and I was finished.
I am really happy with this Love & Laughter card. I have another wedding shower next week so I need to decide whether I want to use the same stamp set or try a different one. Stay tuned!

I love stamp sets like Love & Laughter that have a greeting for the inside of the card, too.
There is also a heart for a little more colour.

The last In Color 2013-2015 sneak peek is Pistachio Pudding.
This is a pretty, pale green colour that is the lightest of the Stampin’ Up! greens. The Wildflower Meadow background stamp is quickly becoming a new favourite so I decided to use it again on this card.
I stamped the image onto Pistachio Pudding card stock with Pistachio Pudding ink and punched out three circles. Then I stamped the image a second time on Whisper White card stock and added it behind the first image with stampin’ dimensionals. The only thing left to do was embellish the card with pearls.
So now that you have seen all of the new In Colors for 2013-2015, what is you favourite? Please leave a comment and let me know.

Introducing Strawberry Slush another new 2013-2015 In Color. What can I say about this colour other than I like it. I really, really like it!
I paired the Strawberry Slush card stock with a Strawberry Slush designer series paper from the Quatrefancy Specialty package. This made the card really eye catching with no effort.
The stamped butterfly is from the Best of Butterflies stamp set and it matches the Elegant Butterfly punch perfectly. The greeting is from the sneak peek set called Really Good Greetings.
This was another really clean and simple card. Are you loving Strawberry Slush?
I am now taking pre-orders for the upcoming 2013-2014 catalogue. To request your copy, please click here.

To get a 3D look, stamp the first image directly onto the card stock.
Then add additional punched images on top of the first image.
Here I added two punches butterflies over the stamped butterfly.
