When the embossing folder matches the stamp set perfectly, stamping is so very easy. This card took no time at all to make.
I stamped the Wildflower Meadow background stamp with the new Baked Brown Sugar ink onto Very Vanilla card stock. Next, I aligned the stamped image into the matching Wildflower Meadow embossing folder and ran the card stock through the Big Shot.
A few embellishments – Very Vintage designer buttons, 5/8″ Crochet Trim and 7/16″ Natural Trim and I was done. Truly a five minute card.
So, what do you think of the new Baked Brown Sugar from the 2013-2015 In Colors?

Did you spot the new product? Very Vintage designer buttons.
These elegant buttons would be a great addition to any card. Here I added “stitching” with thin pieces of Baked Brown Sugar card stock.

Today’s card is really two sneak peeks in one. It showcases the new 2013-2015 In Color, Coastal Cabana as well as some of the products from the Quatrefancy Suite. This suite is reminiscent of a Moroccan bazaar.
The products I’ve used include the Modern Mosaic embossing folder, Mosaic Madness stamp set and the Mosaic punch. There is also a bold and colourful coordinating designer series paper called Quartrefancy that is part of the suite.
In order to make room for the new products, Stampin’ Up! has released the 2013 Retired Lists.

A closer photo of the Fabulous Phrases greeting stamped in a Mosaic Madness image frame and punched out with the new Mosaic punch.

To prove that the Stampin’ Up! In Colors are right on trend, this picture was taken just last week. From left to right are Abbi, Rachel, my daughter, Alex and Breanne. They each showed up at school wearing variations of mint, a hot clothing colour right now. They were so surprised to be wearing the same colour they took a photo to capture the moment.

Want to see a sneak peek of the new 2013-2015 In Colors?
First up is Crisp Cantaloupe.
I paired the coming to the new catalogue Label Love stamp set and coordinating Artisan Label Punch with the new Soho Subway designer series paper which also has a lot of Crisp Cantaloupe in it. I paired the Crisp Cantaloupe with Early Espresso and Very Vanilla for these two cards.

I made the same basic card twice. This first card is portrait or hamburger style. I added a greeting from the must have Essentials stamp set ($8.95, set of 2, 126370). The center of the stamped label is from the Spring Surprise Bundle and includes a set of 8 stamps – A Round Array Stamp Set (Clear only 129090) and the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch (129404).

This next card is a really simple landscape or hotdog style card. I stamped the label twice, once in Crisp Cantaloupe and once in Early Espresso. I cut just the greeting from the Early Espresso version and adhered it to the larger label.

To create a larger frame for a punch, punch out two additional pieces for the frame and cut one in half horizontally and one vertically.

Glue one set behind the punched piece overlapping the smaller punched piece.

To finish, glue the last set of cut pieces behind the punched piece overlapping in the opposite direction.

I always like to do a comparison of the new colour to some of the existing colours.
Here are from left to right: Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, Crisp Cantaloupe, Melon Mambo and Primrose Petals.

Initially I thought Crisp Cantaloupe fit in well with the pinks but I decided to do a comparison to the orange colours.
From left to right are: Calypso Coral, Crisp Cantaloupe, Tangerine Tango and Pumpkin Pie. And I think it fits in just as well here. So is it orange or pink? You decide.

For this card, I created a stripe of colour and then stamped the greeting on top.
After creating a post-it note guide (see below), I added four colours of ink to the paper. Starting with the darkest colour, Gumball Green, I burnished ink onto the card stock leaving lots of white space. To burnish, make contact with the paper and rub. Do not tap as you do when sponging.
Next, I added Calypso Coral ink in the same way, again leaving white space. Repeat with the Pool Party ink. Finally, burnish on Daffodil Delight ink to finish leaving no white at all.
Once the ink stripe is dry, stamp the Hello, Hello greeting ($9.95, 132675) on top with Basic Gray ink.
I layered the stamped piece of Whisper White card stock onto a second piece of Whisper White card stock with dimensionals and then added a Calypso Coral card.

Stamps: Hello, Hello (132675)
Ink: Calypso Coral (126983), Pool Party (126982), Gumball Green (126861), Daffodil Delight (126944), Basic Gray (126981)
Paper: Calypso Coral (122925), Whisper White (100730)
Other: Sponges (101610)

Adhere the post-it notes to the Whisper White card stock keeping the lines as straight and even as possible so the ink lines are also straight.

I have been creating lots of these Starburst Cards from Technique Junkies lately. They are so much fun to make. It’s like doing a puzzle with every card. See the directions below.
This card uses the retiring Comfort Cafe designer series paper (126898) with the Serene Silhouette stamp set (Wood 127322, Clear 127324). I also used Soft Suede and Crumb Cake card stock for a very calming card. I really like the Comfort Cafe paper because it can create great neutral cards with the softer patterns and bold, colourful designs with the other patterns.
Take a look at the second card below and then leave me a comment letting me know your favourite of the two.
My Top 5 Must Have Accessories:
• Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper (126898)
• Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder (120175) See samples here and here
• Shimmer Paints in Champagne Mist (116806), Frost White (116854) and Platinum (116807) Samples are here, here, here and here
• Tabletop Paper Cutter (106959) This precise cutter is a favourite since it cuts three sheets of card stock at one time
• Daffodil Delight 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon (119254) This is the ribbon I will miss the most

This card is has a lot more going on! For the designer series paper, I used Epic Day This and That Designer Series Paper (item 130814) with the Best of Birthdays stamp set (132929).

Cut pieces of card stock and/or designer series paper to either 1″ x 6″ or 2″ x 6″. Cut pieces diagonally.

I recommend laying out all of the pieces before adhering.
Start at the outer edges and work your way to the middle.
You can use as many pieces as you wish in whatever sizes.

When you line up the middle piece, make sure that the corner is covered as above.
