We had such a fabulous weather day here in Edmonton yesterday!
Not only was there no snow for the Thanksgiving weekend but the weather was so warm at 25° Celsius (last year was 10° by the way which is also the forecasted high for today). As I was out running errands, I saw a field along the side of the road that was absolutely full of wild daisies. Those daises were all white and it was breathtaking. They became my inspiration for this card.
To make this birthday tag card, I used the Flower Patch Photopolymer stamp set and Flower Fair Framelits. These are available as a bundle which will save you 15% off purchasing them separately. Cutting out the flowers by hand would be fussy and time consuming so I definitely recommend this bundle so the framelits can do all the work for you.
For the card, I adhered a strip of 1-1/2″ wide black and white paper from the Everyday Chic Designer Series Paper and then added a piece of 3″ wide Basic Black card stock and a 2-3/4″ wide Whisper White card stock on top. All pieces are 5-1/2″ long. The 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ card was made with the Thick Whisper White card stock. This card stock makes a great sturdy card when you are using Whisper White for the card itself.
The Ornate Tag Topper Punch was used on the top of the tag and a length of Basic Black 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon added through the hole. The ribbon was tied off with Silver Cording Trim.
To make the daisies, I cut out three of the five leafed flower in each colour- Island Indigo, Bermuda Bay and Pool Party – and layered them. I used the Fine-Tip Glue Pen between each layer to hold them together. Once the flowers were cut out it was so very easy to make the daisies.
On the tag itself, I stamped three sets of leaves in Pear Pizzazz ink as well as the “Happy Blooming Birthday” greeting with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
I added each of the flowers to the tag with a glue dot and also added a black center also made with the Flower Fair Framelits. On top of each black center is a small Rhinestone Basic Jewel.
