I love the two different looks in these cards.
Although I used the same layout, cardstock, designer paper and ink, the cards are unique.
For the first card, I used a brocade design found on one of the papers in the Christmas Cocoa designer series paper package. This paper has a Real Red background and soft flocking on the white pattern. The ribbon is double stitched Real Red tying together the red and white monochromatic look.
I like the simple elegance of this card.
This second card has a more down to earth feel to it. I used the same Christmas Cocoa designer series paper, this time choosing a striped pattern that uses Soft Suede with the Real Red. The Sleigh Bells ribbon is also new to the Holiday Mini catalogue and has the same colours.
I love the simplicity of this earthy card.

Don’t think it, ink it!
Hi Dar: You make it difficult to choose between the two cards. They are both terrific. I am, however, “in love” with the new flocked Christmas Cocoa DSP so I choose that one just slightly over the other. I arrived at your blog thru a post on the SU demo web-site that sited your blog as an answer to someone wondering what to do with the Christmas Cocoa DSP. I know SU demos are wonderfully creative and it’s great to find another local Edmontonian with beautiful ideas. Thanks for posting your gorgeous work!
I don’t know if I could choose! They’re both fabulous. I polled my two daughters and one liked brocade one and the other couldn’t choose either. I love them both!
