Gold accents on a card seem to make it extra special, don’t you think? It doesn’t really take any longer to make the card but there is just something about the shine and richness created using a metallic like gold.
For this card I decided to use another new stamp set, Birthday Blossoms and the coordinating Pansy Punch. I stamped the greeting and background flower with VersaMark ink and then heat embossed with gold embossing powder. The flower was also stamped and heat embossed on a gold foil sheet.
The middle layer of the card is also a gold foil sheet sandwiched between a Basic Black card stock layer and card. Since I wanted a bit more of the gold foil to show I cut the top black layer to 3-5/8″ x 4-7/8″.
The flower was adhered to the card over top a looped length of Gold Metallic Thread. The center of the flower is a White Perfect Accent coloured with a black Sharpie marker.
This is definitely one of those cards that looks better in person. There is bit of glare from the gold foil in the photo. Trust me, I’m really happy with this finished card and the way the black and gold went together.
