When my kids were punching out row upon row of Mosaics for the color charts that were included with the new catalogues we noticed that this cool Chevron design was created.
This card shows the Mosaic punched Chevron design with Pool Party embossed pieces of Island Indigo card stock inserted in each opening. The image is from the Mosaic Madness stamp set and the greeting is from Sassy Salutations.
I measured out the spacing to be sure the designs were even. Scroll down for directions for two sizes of cards. I found it better to make pencil marks on the paper instead of scoring as scored lines showed through the card stock.
A close up look at the Mosaic punches adhered in the openings of the Chevron.
Cut the cardstock to 1-1/2″ x 4″. Make a line down the middle of the paper at 3/4″.
Notch the center line at 1/2″, 1-1/4″, 2″, 2-3/4″, 3-1/2″.
One one side punch every second notch where it intersects the main line. Turn the paper and cut at the 1/2″ notch and then every second notch.
Be sure not to cut right through the end of the paper.
This card has three layered Chevrons alternating Whisper White and Island Indigo. They were layered onto a piece of Island Indigo patterned paper from the Quatrefancy Specialty designer series paper.
The greeting is from the Lacy and Lovely stamp set stamped in Island Indigo ink onto Whisper card Stock and punched with the Extra Large Oval punch. Yes, I know I have used this greeting a lot lately but it’s still on my desk waiting to be put away!
I layered the punched oval onto a piece of Island Indigo card stock cut out with the smallest Label Collection framelit.
Cut paper to 1-1/2″ x 5-1/4″. Make a line down the middle of the paper at 3/4′.
Notch the center line at 3/4″, 1-1/2″, 2-1/4″, 3″, 3-3/4″, 4-1/2″.
Punch every second notch where it intersects the main line. Turn the paper and repeat.
How do you mark the line down center at 1-1/2″ if the width of paper is only 1-1/2″? Do you mean 3/4″ ? Thanks for clearifying.
Yes, I meant 3/4″. I’ve made the change. Thanks for the catch!
Ingenious! I really like both cards.
