Share What You Love Suite is Retiring

Although the Love What You Do stamp set will still be available with the new catalogue, most of the coordinating products will no longer be available.

We will be saying goodbye to the Artisan Pearls, Velvet Ribbon, Embellishment Kit, Lovely Floral Embossing Folder and Cardstock Pack. But most of all, the lovely and versatile Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper is retiring. Order now so you don’t miss out. This package has 24 sheets of 12″ x 12″ heavyweight sheets many with a translucent, pearlized finish.

The colours on this card are Mossy Meadow and Pear Pizzazz and I used the Petal Burst embossing folder on the front of the card. This favourite folder of mine is also retiring.

To make the card, cut a piece of Mossy Meadow 11″ by 4-1/4″ and score in half at 5-1/2″. Cut at 2-3/4″ to create the piece that is used on the front.

The designer series paper is 4″ x 5-1/4″.

Added to the Mossy Meadow piece is a Pear Pizzazz layer cut to 2-1/2″ x 4″ and a Whisper White piece cut to 2-1/2″ x 3-3/4″.

Climbing Orchid

Climbing Orchid by Stampin Up

I am not gifted with a green thumb. My brother once told me that if there was a society for the prevention of cruelty to plants he would have no choice but to report me.

I try. I really do. But I think I either don’t give my plants the attention they need or I over love my foliage.

I’ve sought help.  Those who don’t suffer from my affliction offer advice like “try a fertilizer”, “more sun, less sun”, “water more, water less” or “change the soil”. It’s to no avail.

So, I have decided to focus on the flowers I’m good at – those made from paper.

There is no way a real orchid would survive with me as caretaker so I was thrilled to create one  with the Climbing Orchid stamp set and Orchid Builder Framelits Dies.

Early Espresso and Daffodil Delight are the main colours used on this card with a little Old Olive added in for the leaves. Other than the stamped center, I coloured the flower with Stampin’ Blends.

The background features the Ruffled Dynamic Embossing Folder and the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack. If you are looking for a paper workhorse, the wood grains in this package really do it all.

A dimensional or two placed between the orchid layers really adds a lot to this card.

I stamped the teeny, tiny flower from Hello Cupcake in Early Espresso ink onto the “icing” and added a rhinestone to the center of each flower to glitz the card up a bit.

So Simple Lasting Lily

Lasting Lily by Stampin Up

I’m sharing some more of my favourite Sale-a-bration items with you today. The first one is the Lasting Lily stamp set. This set is a Level 2 item free with a $120 purchase pre-tax and shipping.

A set of 16 photopolymer stamps that includes two lilies, two stems, a leaf, a background stamp and a whooping 10 greetings. For best results with this stamp set, place your card stock onto a soft mat like the Stampin’ Pierce Mat before stamping and be sure your pads are not over inked.  As this is a Distinktive set, the stamps give a realistic  image and too much ink prevents clean impressions.

I also used a second Sale-A-Bration item for this card, the Organdy Ribbon Combo Pack. A delicate 1/4″ organdy ribbon, this pack includes five colours. Free with a $60 order while supplies last or until March 31st.

Here are the paper sizes needed for this card:

Whisper White Thick: 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, 5-1/4″ x 4″, 4-1/4″ x 2-3/4″  and a scrap for the greeting

Pear Pizzazz:  4-1/2″ x 3″

Grapefruit Grove:  4-3/4″ x 3″

Lasting Lily in Grapefruit Grove

I love this new Organdy Ribbon. The combo pack includes five colours – Grapefruit Grove, Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight, Highland Heather and Lemon Lime Twist

I find myself wanting to hoard this gorgeous ribbon so for this card I used a twist of ribbon rather than a full length.

Home to Roost Direct to Paper Technique

Home to Roost by Stampin Up for Sale A Bration

No one will ever call me a farm girl but the Home to Roost stamp set was at the very top of my Sale-a-bration wish list. I just love this rooster. You can choose to colour him as I did for this card or not.

Sale-a-bration is a great time to start collecting the Stampin’ Blends Marker Combos.

These markers are high-quality, alcohol-based, dual-tip markers available in lots of exclusive Stampin’ Up! colours. Each colour comes in 2 shades to give you the best blending experience.

Priced at $12 per set, order five sets and you will receive a free Sale-a-bration Level 1 item. For this card, I used Rich Razzleberry, Cajun Craze, Bermuda Bay, Poppy Parade, Night of Navy and Crumb Cake to colour the rooster and Basic Black to colour the rhinestones.

This card also uses the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper another great choice for your free Sale-a-bration item. Coloured on one side and black and white on the other, this paper is a beautiful and whimsical option for your card making.

Home to Roost Direct to Paper

Direct to paper is a technique that skips the stamp. Simply use your ink pad to apply colour directly to your card stock or paper to personalize your projects.

You can ink up just the edges or use the ink to add a distressed texture to an embossed paper like on this card. No matter which way you apply the ink, start with a light touch. You can always add more ink.

It’s Tea Time!

Tea Together and Tea Time Framelits from Stampin Up

I have to confess that if given the choice between coffee and tea, I will choose coffee every time.

But as a kid, I remember that on Sundays after church we were allowed to drink tea. There was at least as much milk as there was tea in the cup but it was still a big deal.

And tea cup stamps hold a special memory for me as well. The very first card I ever stamped used a tea cup stamp. It will be twenty years in May but I still remember the feeling of accomplishment. I was so proud of that card and amazed that I had made it. I had no idea where my newfound love of paper crafting would take me over the next two decades.

During Sale-a-Bration, the Tea Time Framelits are free with a $120 pre-tax and shipping order. And you’ll want to make sure that your order includes the Tea Together stamp set that coordinates with the framelits.

Mix and match tea cups and teapots with different sized flowers to create elegant cards. Included in the stamp set are three greetings including Happy Mother’s Day.

Tea Time Framelits and Team Together Stamps

I stamped the small flower from the Tea Together stamp set three times onto Watercolor Paper with the Memento Tuxedo Black ink and let dry for a minute or two. Them using an Aqua Painter filled with water, I picked ink up from the stamp pad lids. To prevent the colors from becoming muddy, allow each color to dry before adding the next. As an example. I colored all the flower center in Daffodil Delight and then the leaves in Lemon Lime Twist.  Once the leaves and centers were dry, I colored the flowers – one each in Flirty Flamingo, Calypso Coral and Balmy Blue.

Butterfly Gala Framed! Another Rectangle Stitched Framelits Card

Butterfly Gala By Stampin Up

The weather here says winter but these butterflies definitely says spring!

The Gingham Gala Suite features Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight, Grapefruit Grove, Highland Heather and Lemon Lime Twist. Included in the suite are the Gingham Gala 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, Adhesive Backed Sequins, Cardstock Pack and a Sale-a-bration freebie, the co-ordinating Organdy Ribbon Comb Pack

But the outstanding part of this suite is the Butterfly Gala Bundle. A matching stamp set and duet punch make creating effortless. And at only $45.75 for the punch and 18 image stamp set, it’s a bargain, too.

Grab the bundle, the designer series paper and free ribbon pack and start making clean and simple cards that will make you forget all about the temperature outside.

Butterfly Gala with Stampin Blends

I coloured the butterflies with the Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends Combo Pack. I find these markers so easy to use. And don’t forget that the Blends can also be used to colour the Pearls and Rhinestones. For this card,  I used my Basic Black Blends on the various sized pearls.

Don’t forget that during Sale-A-Bration, you can receive a free Level 1 product for every $60 spent before tax and shipping. Choose from the butterfly coordinating items below or view all the products here.

Butterfly Duet Punch by Stampin Up

I love all the different layers and levels on this card. By adding a few dimensionals, I attached the frame and the greeting to the card with some added height. I’m a big fan of the Mini Dimensionals and their smaller size.

Layering has never been simpler

I am loving the new Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies. Create layers simply and accurately with the Big Shot and these dies in very little time.

The dies come in cascading sizes that layer together for lots of different looks or use just one for the card base or an accent piece. You can also create frames for your cards in no time.

I made this card with the Needle & Thread and Needlepoint Elements Framelits Dies. One of my favourite pieces in the framelits is the paper piercing design I used on the background. Instead of cutting out the image the die makes small holes for a truly unique design.

The colours used on this card are Poppy Parade and Pear Pizzazz.

If the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies are not on your wish list, add them now. Right at the top. Trust me.

I was able to use new accessories on this card – the Old Olive Linen Thread and Gingham Gala Sequins in addition to the Pearls.  And don’t forget to include the Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper for even more creative options.
