Bring on the Cake Card in Rose Red

Bring on the Cake Card in Rose Red

Bring on the Cake Card

If you remember from yesterday’s post, I was trying to create card that I could picture in my mind but just could not translate onto paper. Although the card turned out okay, it just wasn’t what I had been planning.

Today’s card is my second attempt. And it is definitely more what I had planned and didn’t take long at all to stamp probably because I wasn’t so frustrated. I changed a couple of things – first, I decided to use my favourite Stampin’ Up! colour – Rose Red because it never lets me down and second I decided to use the Framed Tulip embossing folder so that I was working with less surface for stamping. And both of these changes really helped me create.

After stamping the greeting, I created flowers with the Boho Blossom punch. Then, I added a Vintage Trinket button brad to the center of each flower and topped the brad with a Basic Pearl. I love these little trinkets and think they look great topped with the pearl. Have you ordered your trinkets yet?

Take A Spin! Card

Take A Spin! Card

Take a Spin Card

I was speaking with my friend, Madhu, yesterday and she asked me if I liked the Take A Spin stamp set.  And although I said I did, I had to admit that I had not actually made a card using this set yet. So, today I did!

And I like the set even better now!

I stamped the circle three times – in Old Olive, So Saffron and Tempting Turquoise. Then I cut out pieces of the Old Olive and So Saffron circles and paper pieced them onto the Tempting Turquoise circle. I was concerned that the Game Spinner Hand might not move bit it does. It actually sits up a little bit on the washer so it helped with this bulkier card.

The card itself is Chocolate Chip with layers of Tempting Turquoise and So Saffron. On the So Saffron piece, I stamped “thank you for being you” from the Bold Blossom stamp set which seemed appropriate for this card.

I adhered the spinner circle to a larger circle of Chocolate Chip cardstock with dimensionals and added three Chocolate Chip brads as an embellishment. Hope you like it!

Sale A Bration – So Happy For You

Sale A Bration – So Happy For You

So Happy for You SaleA Bration Card

This is another very simple card featuring the So Happy For You stamp set which is also a free stamp set choice during Sale A Bration.

To make this card, I created a Very Vanilla card and stamped the “birthday wishes” greeting from So Happy For You along the bottom right in Baja Breeze ink. And that’s the only stamping involved!

Next,  I punched a piece of Baja Breeze cardstock with the Scallop Trim Border punch. Over that I layered more Very Vanilla cardstock with a Baja Breeze patterned paper from the Springtime Vintage designer series paper package.

Finally, I tied a bow of Very Vanilla satin ribbon and adhered a Rosette on top of the knot. To that I added a Basic Rhinestone. And I was finshed!

Tip: Make several of these cards without the greeting. As you need a card, you can stamp whichever So Happy For You greeting is needed: so happy for you, good luck, birthday wishes, thinking of you or thanks. A great time saver!

Springtime Vintage Petal Cone

Springtime Vintage Petal Cone

Big Shot Petal Cone in Springtime Vintage Paper

If you only took a quick look at the Petal Cone Die in the Occasions Mini catalogue, or didn’t even notice it all, go take another look. This Bigz die for the Big Shot Machine is so cute!

I was surprised how easy these were to make and the die even includes the scallop petals and the banner.

I dressed the Petal Cone die up a bit with a length of Very Vanilla Seam Binding that I gathered a little bit.

The only other embellishment is the Rosette with a pearl center

Whether you leave this Petal Cone die open of close the top for a different look and purpose, you will have fun creating with this die.

Simple Saturday – Build A Cupcake Kids Cards

Simple Saturday – Build A Cupcake Kids Cards

Stampin Up Canada Build A Cupcake Punch Cards

When my kids were younger, weekends meant birthday parties.  It seemed as if one of my kids, if not both, received an invitation almost weekly. And that meant that I spent lots of time making cards for my kids to include with their gifts.

As soon as I saw this Build a Cupcake punch, I knew that it would create fast and fun cards for birthday parties. These little cards are 3″ x 3″ and fit perfectly into the Mini Square Envelopes (107309). And the cards were really quick to make!  The cards were created almost entirely from punches.  The only stamping is the Happy Birthday greeting from the Create A Cupcake stamp set.

I hope you like these Simple Saturday cards. Have fun stamping this weekend!
