Indescribable Gift Watercolor Card

Another way to add definition to your cards is to color a heat embossed image with an aqua painter. For this 5-1/2″ square card, I stamped the flowers from Indescribable Gift onto Shimmery White card stock and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

I then colored the image with an aqua painter filled with water and ink refills in Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral, Tangerine Tango and Wild Wasabi. Still using the aqua painter, I did a watercolor wash to fill in the white spaces around the image. For the wash, I used Calypso Coral.

Shimmery White card stock makes a great substitute for watercolor paper when using an aqua painter. The card stock holds up to the water and the shimmer adds to the appeal. I find that I need to remind myself not to hold the aqua painter too tightly to avoid extra liquid on the paper. If you do get too much water, use a tissue to lightly absorb the extra and then continue to watercolor.
