Oh, my!
I have been suffering from stampers block big time. I’m not sure if it is the transition from Christmas Cards to Spring cards which means brighter colors and less embossing and less ornate cards. Or if I just took too much of a break over the holidays.
Whatever it is, I feel like I have been sitting and looking at card stock for days and not getting anything accomplished.
So, I decided to start fresh with a simple card. My go to when creativity is just not happening is monochromatic cards. When the pressure to create in multiple colors is removed, I seem to think more clearly.
This card features Watermelon Wonder ink, card stock and ribbon. And the “What I Love” stamp set. This set is one of the free items you can choose with a $60 purchase during Sale-a-bration. And you can order any combination of current items to make up your $60. Stock up on card stock and adhesives or buy your new favourites from the Occasions 2016 catalogue. It’s totally up to you.
For this card, I stamped the first flower and then masked it before stamping the next flower. I covered each newly stamped flower with a mask before stamping the next. If you’re not sure how to mask, please leave a comment and I’ll make a tutorial for a future blog post.
To finish the card, I added a length of the new Watermelon Wonder 1″ Stitched Satin Ribbon. In addition to the beautiful colour, this ribbon is not too stiff and is easy to work with and tie.
So, what are your tips for getting over stampers block and back to creating? Because I know I’ll need them again one day soon.
