Blessings of Home Thank You Card

Butterfly Brilliance Cards in Black and White
Butterfly Brilliance in Black and White
There is something to be said for the simplicity of creating in black and white. Although I love colourful cards, I think I am equally fond of the monochromatic card. In keeping it simple, the intricate details in the Butterfly Brilliance stamp set and Brilliant Wings dies really have a chance to show off. And you can purchase both products together in the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle.
When using this set of dies, I tend to cut a couple of extra butterflies if I have time. Then when I need a last minute card, it’s just a card base, some designer series paper plus the circle, butterfly and a greeting. That’s a quick card ready to go. And butterflies work for any occasion – birthday, sympathy, thanks and so many more.
When making butterflies using the dies, I do recommend the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip. It makes getting those little pieces out so much easier. And if you don’t have the original Take Your Pick, it is the handiest little tool for stampers.

To make this card, I adhered the butterflies to a piece of white cardstock that was the same size as the Stitched Rectangle die cut frame that I had made. Then I trimmed off any pieces that exceeded the edge of the cardstock before assembling the card. The card actually had a bit too much open space so it was the Matte Black Dots to the rescue. Just a few dots filled in the whiteness and finished the card.
This card is really similar to the one above except I stamped the butterflies to create the background. The butterfly was highlighted by adding it onto a layering circles die cut. Both greetings are from the Peaceful Moments stamp set.

Tidings of Christmas Suite
The Tidings of Christmas Suite is awesome! It includes a stamp set, dies, designer series paper and ribbon. New to the Annual Catalogue this year, I am really appreciating the versatility of this bundle and how easy it is to create cards and projects with these products.
The Tiding & Trimmings stamp set has 18 stamps that include images and greetings. You can stamp a stocking, star, bow or foliage and cut the stamped image out with the Christmas Tidings Dies. Or, do as I did for these cards, and stamp only the greeting letting the die cut pieces create the focal highlights. I am especially fond of the gorgeous star which comes in two different sizes. I just had to use it on every card in this trio of Christmas cards.
The final items in this suite are the Tidings of Christmas 6″ x 6″ designer series paper and the Evening Evergreen 3/8″ Chevron Weave Ribbon which you can spot on two of the cards as well. This ribbon was soft and easy to work with and I love deep green colour.

Christmas Tidings Dies
In addition to the colours included in the paper – Cherry Cobbler, Sahara Sand, Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen and Misty Moonlight – I opted to add Copper Foil Sheets. I love how even a little copper adds to the festive feel of the cards.
Tiding of Christmas Designer Series Paper
The Tidings of Christmas designer series paper has lots of patterns to pick from. They are all on the smaller size making it easy to mix and match designs. I opted for a bolder pattern paired with a smaller, more subtle pattern for this card and the next.

Don’t you love how intricate this star die is? And you can use it year round for birthdays, anniversaries and more. Here I mounted it on a larger card stock star which is also included with the dies, There are also pieces of various foliage that can be cut out as this set has 15 dies in total. I tucked a bunch or two behind the greetings on each of the cards.
