We are definitely seeing the first signs that Autumn is on the way. The leaves are changing colour, it is getting dark earlier and the weather is cooler, especially at night. And my favourite sign, pumpkin spice lattes are back!
Today I want to share with you the perfect stamp set for all your Fall cards and beyond.
Have you ever been pleasantly surprised by a stamp set? The Soft Seedling stamp set and the Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder are probably not the first products you noticed in the mini catalogue. It wasn’t until a fellow Demonstrator called my attention to the products that I realized how beautiful these products both are. The stamp set on its own has such beautiful details and is the perfect “stamps, ink and paper” set. But if you have a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine or plan to purchase one, the Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder is also a great option.

I really like the layout of this card because there is no waste when cutting the cardstock for the images. I cut the Basic White to 2-3/4″ x 4-1/4″. This means that I got 8 pieces from the sheet of cardstock and there wasn’t a scrap left over.

Accordion Card using the Wonderful World SAB Bundle
The Wonderful World stamp set & DSP Bundle is one of my favourite Sale–a-bration products. And when the stamps and paper coordinate so wonderfully, it’s easy to make card like this fun fold.
Accordion Card Tutorial:
- Cut a piece of cardstock 5-1/2″ x 11 for the card base and score at 1-3/4″, 3-1/2″, 5-1/4″ and 7″ along the 11″ side. Cut a second piece of cardstock to 3″ x 6″ for the folded piece and score at 3″.
- Cut two pieces of designer series paper that each measure 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ as well as two pieces of designer series paper each cut to 1-1/4″ x 5-1/4″.
- For the inside of the card, cut a piece of Basic White to 4″ x 5-1/4″.
- Stamp a flower onto the Basic White layer for the image inside the card being sure to position it to be hidden when the card is closed. I masked the flower and inked up the stem first. Then I removed the mask and carefully inked up the flower in the darker ink before stamping.
- Stamp two greetings and a flower onto a scrap piece of Basic White and cut out with dies or scissors. There is not a matching die for Wonderful World so I fussy cut with Paper Snips.
- Assemble the card as shown using Seal to adhere all of the pieces except the greeting and flower on the front which were adhered with Dimensionals.
The flower I stamped inside and on the front of this card is the German Cornflower. The Wonderful World stamp set includes images of prominent flowers found around the world.
Included in the set is an English Rose, a pink Campanula or bell flower from the Netherland, a Colombian Cattleya Orchid, a French Iris, a Sri Lankan Blue Lily, a Swiss Edelweiss, a Pakistani Jasmine, a Romanian Dog Rose and a New Zealand Kowhai. Stamp a lovely flower, then add a sentiment from a greeting set like Charming Sentiments. I love that there are matching dies for this greeting set.
This card can be mailed in a Basic White Medium Envelope. When closed, the vibrancy of the Basic White cardstock layer really shows off the rest of the card.

Thinking Christmas with the Lights Aglow Suite Collection
Thinking Christmas with Lights Aglow.
Can there be the perfect paper for making your Christmas cards this year? In my opinion, it’s the Lights Aglow 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper from the July to December Mini Catalogue.
The colours featured in this paper are perfect for Christmas and beyond – Cherry Cobbler, Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent, Very Vanilla, Basic Black and Gold. And the designs feature the perfect blend of shapes, tiny patterns, gold accents, bokeh and more.
I paired the paper with the Brightest Glow Bundle for these cards. Included in the bundle is the Brightest Glow stamp set with all the seasonal greetings you will need and the Labels Aglow Dies with lots of fabulous twinkling “lights” that allow the underlying paper or cardstock to peek through.
There are four sheets of frames in Soft Succulent and four sheets in Cherry Cobbler that can be quartered to quickly make 32 cards. Just cut the 6″ x 6″ sheets down to 3″ x 3″ for each card.
Both of these cards follow the same layout with slightly different elements to finish the card. This card is embossed with the Quatrefoil Tile Embossing Folder. I heat embossed “joy” with gold embossing powder on Very Vanilla cardstock and cut it out with the round die. Before adhering the circle to the card with Dimensionals, I added a length of gold trim from the Simply Elegant Trim pack. A row of Festive Pearls at the edge of the card and one by the greeting finish the card.
- Cherry Cobbler – 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ folded in half for the card base, 3-3/4″ x 5″
- Gold Foil – 4″ x 5-1/4″, 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″
- Lights Aglow DSP – 3″ x 3″
- Very Vanilla – scrap for the die cut greeting
For this card, the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder was used. I heat embossed “all is merry and bright” onto a square of Very Vanilla cardstock for the center and added it with Dimensionals. A few Festive Pearls were added around the greeting.
- Soft Succulent – 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ folded in half for the card base, 3-3/4″ x 5″
- Gold Foil – 4″ x 5-1/4″, 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″
- Lights Aglow DSP – 3″ x 3″
- Very Vanilla – scrap cut to 1-3/4″ x 1-3/4″

You Gnome You Want It. These little guys should come with a cuteness overload warning!

I had so much fun making my gnome card. I picked up Pacific Point, Bermuda Blue and Balmy Blue from the Storybook Gnomes Designer Series Paper.
Did you notice the Dots & Spots Die in the background? This die adds a simple pattern to cardstock and paper to create a background. Personally, I like the edges cut mid dot so this piece measures 3-3/8″ x 4-3/4″.

One of my favourite embellishments are the Iridescent Rhinestone Basics Jewels. These jewels add a subtle highlight and go with everything, I added one to the center of the snowflake and a couple just above the greeting.
I used Mini Dimensionals between the card and the Dots & Spots Die cut as well as under the greeting. And can you spot the last dimensional I used? This gnome’s nose is raised up just a little from the rest of the card. So cute!

Perfectly Penciled in Black and White
Black and White Faves for Chess Day
Is it okay to celebrate International Chess Day when I’ve never played a game? But I did watch all of The Queen’s Gambit. Does that count?
The Queen’s Gambit is a miniseries that follows the career of a female chess prodigy named Beth. I really enjoyed the episodes and was fascinated by her outfits as they were inspired by the chess board and pieces.
So, I decided to make a card today in only black and white using chess as my inspiration.
I love making black and white cards and with paper like the Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper you can’t go wrong. I just added a few layers and a greeting. And there are other fabulous papers to inspire your black and white creativity today and every day.

Dancing Hippest Hippos Twins

If you’re looking to share an occasion through hippos, make sure you check out the Hippest Hippos stamp set and matching dies as well as the fun greetings included. Express yourself with the sayings “you’re so hip:, “love you a ton” and “you’re always on point”. I made this as a baby card for new parents of twin girls. The girls are adorable and identical and I’m sure this couple has many exciting and interesting years ahead. I used these stamps and dies for a birthday card earlier so I know these products can be used for a variety of other occasions.

I decided not to colour the hippos in full, focusing instead on their tutus and ballet slippers. To finish off their ensemble, I added sunglasses which are part of the hippo dies. My twin nieces are adults now but when they were younger one was always in pink and the other in purple. Keeping to that theme, I coloured one hippo with Polished Pink and the other with Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends. Stampin’ Blends are alcohol makers available in lots of colours. The card base was made using the Thick Basic White cardstock with layers of Polished Pink as well as Highland Heather. The hippos were stamped with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad recommended for use with the Blends.
The Glossy Dots Assortment is perfect for adding a little bit of bling as it features pink and purple plus two more colours.
