Paisleys & Posies Candy Bag

Paisleys & Posies Candy Bag

Stampin Up Paisleys & Posies Candy Bag

I was shopping at Bulk Barn recently for Halloween candy and saw these chocolate truffles in one of the bins. They reminded me of the Paisleys & Posies Specialty Designer Series Paper so, of course, I needed to buy some. And they are yummy!

I don’t really give out candy for Thanksgiving but thought that these would look nice at each place setting at dinner and help decorate the table.

I cut the top off of a clear medium envelope and then added the candies and tied off the top with twine.

To make the tag, I cut my polka dot card stock to 2″ x 4″ so it would fit the Scalloped Tag Topper punch. I stamped my greeting in Night of Navy ink onto Delightful Dijon card stock. With the stapler, I attached the the Delightful Dijon ribbon from the 3/8″ Ribbon Trio Pack to the tag under the greeting.

Finally, I added some Paisleys & Posies framelits cut outs including the Copper Foil Sheets metallic leaf shape.

You could also make these bags focusing on Cajun Craze, Rich Razzleberry, or Mint Macaron the other colours featured in the paper instead of the Delightful Dijon and Night of Navy.

The Paisleys & Posies Bundle includes the stamp set and the Paisley Framelits Dies. Added the coordinating designer paper and trio of ribbons and you can create lots of cards, home decor items and more.

Star of Light, a quick and easy elegant card

Star of Light, a quick and easy elegant card

Star of Light Christmas Card

This star is so pretty. Can you see the lines coming out from the middle? This bundle is made up of the Star of Light stamp set and Starlight Thinlits. The lines shooting out from the center of the star are part of this thinlit so the work is all done.

I added a greeting, included in the stamp set. Almost all of the included greetings include a reference to light, bright, star or shine so this set is wonderfully themed.

If you are looking for an elegant, unique stamp set for your Christmas cards this year, definitely consider this set. Without a lot of stamping or a difficult technique, you can make cards everyone on your list will love to receive.

Star of Light by Stampin Up

I was surprised by how quick this card was to make. The big Sweet Sugarplum inked swirl takes up most of the card front and I just added a few stars in Rich Razzleberry.

Starlight Thinlits

I cut out a second star from Rich Razzleberry card stock to place behind the Gold Foil Sheet star as a bit of a shadow.

Spooky Fun

Spooky Fun

Spooky Fun and Halloween Scenes Edgelits

I was inspired to make this card after going shopping today. Halloween was everywhere.

This bundle is from the Holiday catalogue and includes the Spooky Fun stamp set and Halloween Scenes edgelits. I don’t buy a lot of Halloween sets but I thought this bundle would be really multipurpose. It is a set of 19 that includes pumpkins, ghosts, bats, witches, a spider and tombstones. Some of the images like the pumpkins are cute for little kids and there are scarier images for older kids and adults. It also works for cards, scrapbook pages, home decor and candy treat bags.

I paired the Halloween Night Specialty Designer Paper with card stock in Basic Gray, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black and Whisper White.

Need Halloween products? Check out this bundle and the coordinating paper.

Stampin Up Spooky Farm

The only stamping is the Spooky Fun greeting stamped in Basic Black Archival ink.

I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to add height between the card and the Halloween Scenes square.

Christmas Magic with Masking 101

Christmas Magic with Masking 101

Christmas Magic Snowman

I had some fun today stamping with the Christmas Magic stamp set. Now, I know that this stamp set just cries out to be watercolored and believe me, I will do that, but for now I just wanted to create a quick card.

The card was kept simple with the use of only two colours of ink – Marina Mist and Night of Navy. And only Night of Navy card stock in addition to Whisper White.

I masked the snowman – keep reading for the step by step instructions – so it would appear grounded but over stamped the trees in both colours.

A couple of greetings and some Metallic Enamel Shapes finish the card.

 Masking 101

Masking 101: Stamp the image that will be in the foreground once on your card stock and a second time onto a post-it note or copy paper. Make sure if you are using a post-it that the stickiness is under the stamped image.

Masking 101 Part 2

Step 2: Place the post it note over the stamped image covering it completely.

Masking 101 Part 3

Step 3: Stamped the second image on top of the post-it.

Masking 101 Part 4

Step 4: Remove the post-it from the card stock. You can re-use the mask so stick it into the stamp case for storage.

Christmas Magic by Stampin' Up!

Masking brings the snowman to the front and keeps the image clean and sharp. It’s a great technique to use whenever you want to create depth on your cards and your focal image crisp.

Blossom Builder Punch Card

Have you checked out the Special Offers for the week yet? Two of the items used to make this card are on sale right now – the Blossom Builder Punch and the Metallic Enamel Shapes. Both are 25% off.

The colours on the card are Flirty Flamingo, Smoky Slate and Basic Gray for both the inks and card stocks. I made a background with Timeless Textures stamp set, added a greeting from the Bunch of Blossoms stamp set (it match the punch) and then added the punched flower.

How to attach blossom builder punch flowers

To adhere the petals, I punched out an extra star center in the same colour and added one petal to each length.

Blossom Builder Punch Close

A Metallic Enamel Shape silver large dot completes the card. I love how simple it is to add some sparkle to a card with these shapes. Included are two sizes of circle, hearts and stars. Get some today on sale.
