Think of the possibilities – names, occasions, numbers and more. Whatever you want to say.

For these cards, I paired the Alphabet Rotary stamp with the Hello You Thinlits for a Valentine card and a Happy Birthday card.

If you always want to say the right thing, add this rotary stamp to your collection today.

TIP: To leave less space between the words, gently move the letter bands closed together. Add a stamping mat underneath your card stock for better images.

Alphabet Rotary Stamp with Hello You Thinlits Love Card

I stamped “I love you” around the heart framelit cut out and then added red glimmer paper behind. I coloured the rhinestones with the Cherry Cobbler Blendabilites before adding to the card.

Alphabet Rotary Stamp with Hello You Thinlits Happy Card

I highlighted some of the “happy birthday” greetings by drawing a rectangle around the words with a marker. The colours are Island Indigo, Melon Mambo and Tangerine Tango.

When life gives you lemons …

When life gives you lemons …

A Happy Thing Stamp Set Lemon Card

I can’t decide what I like better on this card – the angular layers or the bright vibrant colour.

I do know that card making is easy when you use one of my favourite patterned papers – the Stacked with Love designer series paper stack. The papers are black and white on one side and coloured on the other. For this card, I stayed with black and white so the Daffodil Delight could really stand out.

After stamping the lemon image from the A Happy Thing stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I coloured it with Daffodil Delight and Wild Wasabi Blendabilities. Right now, with every $60 you spend pre-tax and shipping, you can choose one free Sale-a-bration item. This stamp set as well as the Daffodil Delight Blendabilities are all available to pick as your freebies.

The unexpected thing about this card is that there are no embellishments. It just doesn’t need any.

So, if you need a card that is easy to make, easy to mail and everyone will love, order your set today. When life gives you lemons, stamp. Who needs lemonade?

Tips for making Masculine Cards

Tips for making Masculine Cards

Moon Lake Trio

I have been thinking about masculine cards this week. I don’t know if it is because my husband’s birthday is in a few days and Valentine’s day just after that. Of if it because my daughter, Alex, is in Australia for the next few months and living with just Phil and Liam makes me feel outnumbered at times.

Whatever the reason, I know the perfect stamp set for making masculine cards – Moon Lake. Add the Adventure Bound designer series paper stack and the possibilities are endless.

When making cards for men, I try to follow a few simple rules:

– Use darker colors

– Stick with patterns like plaids and argyles

– Keep embellishments to a minimum and when you do add them use natural items like wood and burlap

Each of the cards uses one of these rules to show you how easy masculines cards are to make. Enjoy!

Do you dream in color or black and white?

Do you dream in color or black and white?

World of Dreams Cards

If you are a “stick to the basics” stamper, there are two stamps sets that are must haves – World of Dreams and Work of Art. Both of these stamp sets look great on their own or used together when making cards using only ink and paper.

I decided to make this same card twice changing up the color. I made the colored one first using Coastal Cabana, Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantaloupe. And I like it.

But since I always needs cards for men, I decided to make a black and white version although it really is more shades of gray. This one uses Sahara Sand, Smoky Slate and Basic Gray. And I love it!

Corner Garden Tag Card

Corner Garden Tag Card

Corner Garden Note Tag Punch Card

I came “this close” to walking away from this card as it just was not right. The tags looked okay, the greeting was okay but it was just off. The original version was layered only on Calypso Coral and Whisper White and there was just too much open space.

As a last try before giving up, I added two more layers of card stock in Pear Pizzazz and Crushed Curry and it saved the day.  Layers are one of my favorite tools when rubber stamping. It doesn’t take a lot of effort to add a layer or two and if it doesn’t work you can always reuse the card stock on another card.

And when it works it feels great!

For this card, I stamped the Corner Garden stamp in VersaMark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I then cut the image into three pieces each just shy of 1-1/2″ wide. I punched each piece with the Note Tag Punch being sure to keep the bottom edge even.

I then burnished the ink on with a sponge dauber. The inks I used were Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry and Coastal Cabana. The Coastal Cabana turned green with the addition of the Crushed Curry ink so I used card stock in Pear Pizzazz to match the green on the tag.

The greeting is from the Simply Wonderful stamp set and the ribbon from the Best Year Ever accessory pack both sale-a-bration freebies that you can choose from with each $60 order placed.

I knotted the Calypso Coral ribbon and then twisted it holding the ribbon in place with mini glue dots. And now that the card is finished with all its layers, I like it. What do you think?

This metallic silver card features a couple of products that just happen to be included in the Weekly Deals – the Beautifully Baroque embossing folder and the Texture Boutique Machine. I love how little space this machine especially for embossing folders takes up on my stamping table.

I used lots of silver – satin ribbon, encore ink, embossing powder and the Something Borrowed embellishment. Silver ink was applied with the direct to paper technique to the embossed Pink Pirouette card stock before adding the Smoky Slate card. I cut out the stamped and embossed Whisper White greeting piece with a framelit from Chalk Talk.

To add a bit of a vintage look, I used my heat gun to curl up the satin ribbon bow before adding it to the card. You can tack down the ends with glue dots to ensure they stay where you want them.

The Because You Care set has three greetings plus a frame and two other decorative images. I can’t wait to make more cards with this set.
