I selected one of the patterned papers from the Sweet Sorbet designer series paper and then kept to the same colors – Pool Party and Basic Black. I stamped the half flower image from the Petal Paradestamp set twice – once up and once down – about a half inch apart and embossed the images with Pool Party embossing powder.
The “Happy” greeting is from the See Ya Later stamp set. I used a Basic Black marker to color only the word I needed omitting the rest of the image. I mounted the Whisper White card stock onto Basic Black and then added Pool Party Twine from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack as an accent.

Inside the card I stamped another of the greetings from the See Ya Later stamp set (wood 133533, clear 433536). I colored the stamp with Basic Black and Pool Party markers to make the cake stand out.

I am so loving all of the metallic accents – both silver and gold – from the new “Celebrate the Everyday” Occasions mini catalogue. Metallics are a hot trend right now in fashion, home design and more so it only makes sense to incorporate it into our rubber stamping.
I decided to do a little bit of a do-over on my over the top gold card from last week. I kept all of the gold products shown below but changed this card up to include some Strawberry Slush card stock in addition to all of the gold themed items. And I think I like this card better.
The Strawberry Slush softens the card and makes the gold actually stand out more since it has a background to show off against.

The colors on this card are Crumb Cake, Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana and Whisper White. The 2013-2015 In Colors may just be my favorite set of In Colors ever! If you haven’t already ordered these colors, I highly recommend them.
Since I designed this card for a recent Dreaming About Rubber Stamps Team meeting and needed 45 of them prepped, I kept the embellishments easy. A small piece of Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper and Whisper White Baker’s Twine tied in a bow. The Baker’s Twine has 25 yard for $3.95 so it is a real bargain and a goes a long way.

The new “Celebrate the Everyday” catalog has lots of stamp sets with floral images that I know we all love. And flowers are exactly what I would expect in the Spring catalog.
So, right away, I noticed the Starburst Sayings stamp set because it was different. Great greetings and images for a wide range of cards including kids and masculine cards. And whether you use the coordinating Starburst Framelits Dies to cut out the images or on their own for fun layering pieces, the bundle is a bargain.
I stamped the images for this card in Tangerine Tango and Coastal Cabana and then layered card stocks in Crumb Cake, Baked Brown Sugar and So Saffron. The patterned papers are from the Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper. I love bright colors and orange is a favorite so i think this paper package should definitely be on your wish list. I added a small rhinestone to the center of the smaller starburst to finish the card.

This card is almost over the top metallic but I really wanted to see how well all of the gold elements would work together. What fun!
Along with the Happy Watercolor stamp set (wood 133188 $36.95, clear 133191 $26.95), this card also features gold inspired products from the new Occasions 2014 catalogue.
My theme for this card was obviously gold and white and I mixed gold Encore ink (the shadow image) with gold embossed images.
After stamping the shadow background image, I let it dry for a few minutes and then powdered it with the embossing buddy to be sure it was completely dry before stamping the flower on top and heat embossing the gold embossing powder.

The right background paper can take a card from just okay to wow!
So, what do I look for in a designer series paper before I buy? SU! designer series papers all coordinate with the Stampin’ Up! colors and other products so all that is left to do is to pick my favorites from each catalog. I need to love the colors in the package and personally, I look for patterns that repeat across the entire page with a mix of small and bold patterns in each package.
The new designer series paper packages that have just been released all fit my requirements. If I had to pick my faves (so far!), they would be the Retro Fresh and Watercolor Wonder packages.
For this card, I adhered 1″ x 4″strips of Retro Fresh designer series paper to Baked Brown Sugar card stock. Since the paper is 12″ x 12″, whenever possible I cut into piece widths and lengths that can get the most mileage out of my papers like 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6. The card itself is Coastal Cabana card stock.
I punched four circles with the 1″ circle punch from the same patterned papers and adhered them underneath the paper strips covering the middle with a band of card stock in the same colors andBaked Brown Sugar Ruffle Stretch Trim. The greeting is from the new stamp set, Says It All (Wood 133170 $16.95, Clear 133173 $12.95) stamped in Baked Brown Sugar ink.
