I was so drawn to the Springtime Hello stamp set when I first saw it in the new catalog. It’s small but mighty!
A set of 4 petite images, it still makes a big impact. And after the winter we’re having here, the “Hello, Spring” greeting might be the only spring I see for quite awhile.
Lots of other new products were also used on this card including the Natural 5/8″ Chevron Ribbon, Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack. The colors and patterns of the papers included in the stack are gorgeous – a must have item for your stamping.
I also used Linen Thread and Neutrals Candy Dots to complete the card.
Tag cards are very popular right now and with the new Tag Topper Punches the work is all done. Happy stamping!

I wish I could invite you over to see this card in person because it is so much more vibrant than it appears in this photo.
After stamping lots of Christmas cards, tags, gift holders, etc. it feels refreshing to stamp flowers. Like many of you, I am drawn to floral sets and there are so many to choose from in the new Stampin’ Up! 2014 Occasions Catalog. If you haven’t had a chance yet, take a look at new catalog (the link is below and to the right) and then leave a comment telling me which is your favorite new stamp set.
For this card, I lined up post-it notes halfway down the page and then sponged on ink in Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and Pear Pizzazz. After letting it dry for a moment (this keeps the ink from spreading across the line when you remove the post-its), I stamped the Peaceful Petals stamp set image twice, side by side, in each ink color.
I then added the greeting, also from Peaceful Petals, in Bermuda Bay. Finally, I stamped the image again in VersaMark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The card itself is layers of Whisper White and Bermuda Bay card stocks.

A closer view of the sponged rainbow of colors over stamped with the same ink colors and then embossed in white.

Happy New Year!
And happy new 2014 Occasions Catalogue! This is my first card share using products from the new catalogue. After not stamping for over two weeks, I needed to create a simple card to ease back into the groove.
First on my wish list for the Occasions catalog was the Petite Petals Bundle used on this card. The bundle features a 6 image stamp set and matching punch. And the price is awesome!
I used four of the five 2013-2015 In Colors for this card – Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana, Pistachio Pudding and Strawberry Slush. The center of each flower is a button brad from the Vintage Trinkets.

One of the reasons I am a clear mount stamp fan is because of the custom stamp placement.
I placed all three pieces of rubber on one acrylic block and stamped once onto each color of cardstock. Now I have extra pieces to make additional cards.

Scallops Textured Embossing Folder
#132971, $9.95

For this card, I used only Coastal Cabana with the Baked Brown Sugar and used Pearls as the centers of the flowers. To give the flowers more substance, I added a second punched flower under each stamped and punched image with a Dimensional separating the two pieces.

After embossing the Scallops Textured Embossing Folder once,
I switched direction and embossed it a second time to make this background.

I absolutely feel in love with the Gift Bow Bigz L Die that is featured in the Holiday catalogue. This catalogue will retired as of Thursday, January 2nd so take a last look and make sure you have checked off the items on your wish list.
Below are some of the different looks you can create with just this one Big Shot die. And most of the samples use the Winter Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper, another favorite which will also be retiring this week. I love the colors in the package and the fact that the patterns are not limited to Christmas/Winter.

This is the basic bow made from cardstock.

The bow can be flattened and attached to a card.

A second smaller tier was added to this gift bow.

Here the smaller piece was added as the center instead of second layer.

I eliminated the loops to make a completely flat bow.

Five loops make a cute flower bow.

Layers of loops make a traditional gift bow.

I will probably not be making many more Christmas Cards this year as it is time to get them in the mail. But I wanted to have a few on hand in case I need a last minute card. This card is ideal because I can use any leftovers for birthday and thank you cards even after the holidays.
For this really simple card, I stamped various snowflakes from the Snowflake Soiree stamp set onto Silver Foil Sheets with VersaMark ink and heat embossed the snowflakes with silver embossing powder. It’s a good idea to use the Embossing Buddy as well to cut down on the flyaway powder.
The Silver Foil Sheet is cut to 2-3/4″ x 4″ and I created a tag corner just with scissors. A great tip is to use the piece from the first cut as your guide for the second cut. Just turn it over and align it on the other side and voila! even corners.
The ribbons I used are Silver 1/8″ Ribbon and Pool Party Seam Binding. I attached the ribbon with a staple because my staples are silver and it fit this card. And honestly, because it was so easy.
I added a 1-1/2″ wide length of paper from the Winter Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper to the Pool Party card and I was done.

These delicate snowflakes look like lace and are perfect for creating elegant cards and projects.

I have to admit that I soft of miss wrapping presents. I always enjoyed shopping for paper, tags and ribbon that all matched and then the great sense of accomplishment when I was done and could admire the gifts under the tree. It has been awhile since I wrapped more than a gift or two since the introduction of gift bags.
I fell in love with these Tag A Bag Gift Bags back in July when I first used them to create summer themed tags and bags. Remember them? See this post. Since then, I have been sure to keep a package on hand for giving small gifts and gift cards.
So it only seemed right to create bags and tags for my Christmas giving. I added a Gift Bow cut with the Big Shot and made with the Season of Style designer series paper to the bag. I then added a tag from the Season of Style Designer Journaling Tags pack that I mounted onto Cherry Cobbler cardstock and adhered to the bag with Whisper White Baker’s Twine. So fun and easy to make and yet I think the recipient will be impressed, don’t you?

Tag a Bag Gift bags are a fun way to give a gift – 10 kraft bags with White chevron ombre print. Each 5-1/4″ x 8-1/4″
#131370 – $4.95

Printed tags in a variety of sizes allow you to quickly and easily create tags and more – 35 heavy-weight, die-cut, printed tags: 1 ea. of 35 designs in 6 sizes.
#132808 – $5.95

Create your own paper bows with the Big Shot using any cardstock or paper – makes bows in 2 sizes.
#129977 – $40.95
