This card uses the Faux Metal Sheet technique to create a background on a gold foil sheet. It is super simple to jazz up your cards. This technique will be featured in my newsletter this week with additional card samples so be sure to sign up below if you haven’t already.
The colors on this card are Pool Party, Island Indigo and Strawberry Slush in addition to the gold and white card.
I created a long banner with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder (133520, a Sale-A-Bration freebie!) on the Island Indigo card stock and added a Strawberry Slush butterfly made with the Beautiful Butterfly Bigz die for the Big Shot die-cutting machine.
I added the “thinking of you” greeting from the Peaceful Petals stamp set (wood 133104, clear 133107) and embellished with more gold themed accessories – Baker’s Twine and a Mini Metallic Clothespin. Isn’t the clothespin adorable?

I was making a card with the Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die and wanted to start with a simple card so I made this one above. I cut the die out of Baked Brown Sugar card stock and layered with dimensionals onto another piece of Baked Brown Sugar before adhering to a Tangerine Tango card.
Various flowers from the Petite Petals stamp set were stamped onto Tangerine Tango and Coastal Cabana card stocks with Baked Brown Sugar ink and punched out with the Petite Petals punch. Save 15% by purchasing the stamp set and punch as a bundle.
The greeting is from the Happy Watercolor stamp set and was also stamped in Baked Brown Sugar ink onto a banner shaped piece of Whisper White card stock. Small pearls were placed in the middle of each flower to finish the card.
Tip: Place a piece of wax paper between the card stock and the die before cutting out with the Big Shot. You will be so glad you did! Getting the Hexagon Hive cut piece out of the thinlit will be easy peasy.
After making the first card and getting to know how the Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die works, I decided to make a second card and step it up a bit.
Many of the products I used were the same but I layered the “Thank You” greeting from Four You (Wood 130535, Clear 130538) and added Calypso Coral as an accent to the Tangerine Tango.
I saved some of the Calypso Coral and Tangerine Tango pieces that get cut out of the die and adhered them to the card. The Petite Petals punched flowers were from Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper centered with an Itty Bitty Shapes punched center and than a medium pearl.
I think the second stepped up card is my favorite. Which card is yours?
Washi Tape is a great way to make quick cards with little effort. Here I used the Retro Fresh Washi Tape to add color and style to this card.
The card itself is Baked Brown Sugar card stock with a middle layer of Tangerine Tango card stock. The top layer is Whisper White embossed about a third of the way up from the bottom with the Decorative Dots embossing folder (FREE duing sale-a-bration with a $60 order).
The colors included in the Retro Fresh Washi Tape are Baked Brown Sugar, Tangerine Tango, So Saffron and Coastal Cabana so I stuck with the same colors for my card.
The Pansy Punch was punched twice in Tangerine Tango and layered with a stamped and punched Petite Petals Bundle (Wood 134821 $30.50, Clear 130822 $26.25 for both the stamp set and punch)
A small rhinestone was added to the center of the flower and a greeting from Four You (Wood 130535, Clear 130538) was added to complete the card.

Today was a good stamping day. I grabbed a stamp set – You’re Lovely. I choose some paper – Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper as well as Crisp Cantaloupe, Crumb Cake and Whisper White. I picked a few matching accessories – Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack, Deco Labels Collection FramelitsandPearl Basic Jewels. And I sat down to stamp.
Some days I stamp and all I create are what I call blooper cards. Cards that I won’t share here. Some days I know exactly what I want to make and it works out just right. Some days are like today. I grabbed a few products that I knew would work together but I hand no idea what I wanted to make. And then step by step created a card that I am proud of. A very good stamping day.
And the day was even better because most of the products I used were Sale-a-bration freebies. What are you waiting for? Place your order today.
Here is a closer view of just the label piece from this card. I cut out the flowers from a second image and attached them with a dimensional. I added a pearl to the center of each flower. The bow was tied with the Crisp Cantaloupe Baker’s Twine from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack.
Below are the three Sale-a-bration products I used for this card.Earn one free product with each $60 purchase.

I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it is to make flowers when the Spiral Flower Original Die ($21.95) does all the work.
To get the flower started, I wrapped the narrow end around a chopstick and then spiraled the flower around removing the chopstick at about the half way. Next, I adhered it together with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Almost any adhesive will work including a glue gun, glue dots and glue sticks. Once the adhesive was applied, I left the flowers to dry for a awhile with a punch sitting on top of them so they could dry without opening up. These were so charming to make that I can just see myself sitting in front of the TV making lots of flowers so they can be all ready for my next project. Watch the video below to see just how simple these flower are.
The greeting is from the Yippee Skippee stamp set (Wood 131341 $22.95, Clear 131344 $17.95) and was stamped in Midnight Muse ink.
This is a card that you probably won’t mail but if you are hand delivering a card or creating other projects, making flowers just doesn’t get any simpler than with the Spiral Flower Originals Die.
The flower on the left was wrapped tightly, the one in the middle I left looser so it looks more open. My favorite flower though is the one on the right. I used two layers of cardstock, Midnight Muse and Marina Mist. I cut both card stocks out at the same time and made my flower as usual. To finish the flower, I glued the bases down one at a time.

I also made a bookmark with the Spiral Flower Originals Die. I again used two layers of card stock – Real Red and Melon Mambo and attached Old Olive 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon for the stem. The center of the flower is an Antique Brad.

I have so many cards I want to make with this stamp set, Simple Stems, that I don’t even put it away anymore. It has gained a permanent spot on my stamping table and that is where it’s gonna stay.
I love all of these images individually but together – wow! Collage stamping has always been a favorite technique of mine and this set lends itself so well with the bold images. When making your collage of images, I recommend that you always stamp the largest image first. I usually start with three impressions of each stamp working my way down in size and then go back and fill in any white spaces with one of the smaller images if needed.
The other thing I appreciated about this card is that it only uses Whisper White card stock so it is an economical card to make. I cut the smaller piece to 3-1/2″ x 4-1/2″, stamped it and then cut it into 1-1/2″ strips before adhering to the card. The inks are the 2013-2015 In Colors. Buy the card stock and ink pad bundle and the possibilities are endless! The
