Festive Flurry Stamp Set and Framelits

 

The new Foil Sheets are awesome! It’s like adding a mirror to your cards and projects. 

Although the foil sheets don’t photograph well (or at least, I couldn’t get it to photograph well), the finished look is so pretty. The sheets are a little costly so I am using them as accent pieces on my cards. A little goes a long way with this much reflection and shine.

For this card, I made a base of Island Indigo cardstock and added two pieces of Winter Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper – a Smoky Slate piece cut 2″ x 4″ and a Pool Party piece cut to 1″ x 4″. The Silver Foil Sheet piece is also 2″ x 4″. When using 12″ x 12″ sheets of paper, I always try to cut to 2″, 3″ or 4″ so there is no waste. For example, I can get 18 pieces sized 2″ x 4″ from one foil sheet. 

I embossed the silver foil sheet with the Pretty Print embossing folder and stamp a “Peace on Earth” greeting from the Greetings of the Season (Wood $19.95 128030, Clear $14.95 128033) in Island Indigo ink.  And for all of you who have been looking for a “Merry Christmas” stamp in script font, the Greetings of the Season stamp set has a beautiful one.

I stamped two snowflakes from the Festive Flurry stamp set – the second largest in Pool Party and the smallest in Island Indigo. I cut the snowflakes with the Festive Flurry framelits and added a silver foil snowflake between the two. 

Some Silver 1/8″ Ribbon and a Frosted Finishes Embellishment in the center of the snowflakes and I was done.

I really wish each of you could see this card in person. It is definitely my of my favorite Christmas Cards I have made so far this year!

Truly Grateful Pocket Card with Sweater Weather

 

I have always loved pocket cards because they are just a little different. When the recipient has to interact with the card – in this case by pulling out the insert – the card is more personal.

 

To make this card, I cut out two pieces of Chocolate Chip cardstock with the medium sized Envelope Liner Framelit for the Big Shot. I adhered the two pieces together with sticky strip on the three outer edges so the insert fit in easily.

The images are all from the Truly Grateful stamp set (Wood 131730, Clear 131733).

I embellished with a couple of patterns from the Sweater Weather designer series paper which coordinated with my colors for this card – Chocolate Chip, Soft Sky and Crushed Curry.

Calm Christmas Card

 

I find that large images are often the easiest to work with for cardmaking. Because the image takes up most of the space on the card, there is very little planning and thought that needs to go into the background and embellishing.

For this card, I stamped the dove image From Calm Christmas (Wood 132736 $22.95, Clear 132739 $17.95) in Cherry Cobbler and cut it out with a Circles Collections Framelits Die. I continued the Cherry Cobbler theme in the Calm Christmas greeting and the Cherry Cobbler 1″ Stitched Edge Grosgrain Ribbon.  

The card is Crumb Cake with a second Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder embossed piece of Crumb Cake on top. A really quick and easy card.

For this card, I stamped the big “Thank You” onto a Window Sheet with VersaMark ink and embossed with white embossing powder. Since the font slants upward, I added a punched Elegant Butterfly with pearls in the lower corner.

 

I created the background with an Ombre look. This is a trend that started with hair and has moved into everything else- clothing, home decor and now stamping.

I adhered various blue tones – Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay and Island Indigo – to Whisper White cardstock and run it through the Big Shot with the Beautifully Baroque embossing folder that had Whisper White craft ink applied to it.

I wouldn’t have said that Festive Flurry was my favorite stamp set in the Holiday 2013 Catalog when I first looked at it but I love it! It is a little pricier but so versatile – cards, tags, gift packaing, home decor and more. If you only buy one stamp set for Christmas, I think this should be it.

I made a frame with my Festive Flurry Framelits for the Big Shot a few days ago and just had it sitting on my desk. I decided to stamp a snowflake to go behind it and used dimensionals to separate the layers. From there, the banner just came together. All of the paper is from the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack. In this stack, you receive 48 sheets of card sized paper in 4 designs. The greeting is from Christmas Messages (wood #131790 $36.95, Clear #131793 $25.95, Set of 9) and was stamped in Bermuda Bay ink.

Too Kind Stamp Set with Modern Medley PAper

 

I was working on my club projects for September today with the Modern Medley Designer Series Paper. This package of paper has to be one of the most versatile ever. The patterns are all similar in size and since it only uses two colours – Very Vanilla and Basic Black – it is easy to mix and match so every piece gets used. 

This was a really quick card. I stamped the Too Kind stamp set in Melon Mambo and Raspberry Ripple with an Old Olive stem. The circles were made with the Circles Collection Framelits and I embellished very simply with one Rhinestone Basic Jewel coloured with black permanent ink.
