Mosaic Punch Chevron

Mosaic Punch Chevron

Pool Party Mosaic Punch Chevron

When my kids were punching out row upon row of Mosaics for the color charts that were included with the new catalogues we noticed that this cool Chevron design was created.

This card shows the Mosaic punched Chevron design with Pool Party embossed pieces of Island Indigo card stock inserted in each opening. The image is from the Mosaic Madness stamp set and the greeting is from Sassy Salutations

I measured out the spacing to be sure the designs were even. Scroll down for directions for two sizes of cards. I found it better to make pencil marks on the paper instead of scoring as scored lines showed through the card stock.

Mosaic Punch Measurements for Portrait Card

Cut the cardstock to 1-1/2″ x 4″. Make a line down the middle of the paper at 3/4″.

Notch the center line at 1/2″, 1-1/4″, 2″, 2-3/4″, 3-1/2″.

One one side punch every second notch where it intersects the main line. Turn the paper and cut at the 1/2″ notch and then every second notch.

Be sure not to cut right through the end of the paper.

Island Indigo Mosaic Punch Chevron

This card has three layered Chevrons alternating Whisper White and Island Indigo. They were layered onto a piece of Island Indigo patterned paper from the Quatrefancy Specialty designer series paper.

The greeting is from the Lacy and Lovely stamp set stamped in Island Indigo ink onto Whisper card Stock and punched with the Extra Large Oval punch. Yes, I know I have used this greeting a lot lately but it’s still on my desk waiting to be put away!

I layered the punched oval onto a piece of Island Indigo card stock cut out with the smallest Label Collection framelit.

Gingham Garden Washi Tape Madness

Gingham Garden Washi Tape Madness

Gingham Garden Washi Tape Sample #1

Today is all about Washi Tape. The new catalogue has this beautiful set of three Washi Tapes that coordinate so well – a Melon Mambo pattern, a Daffodil Delight gingham and multi colored flowers on white. Once I got started I just couldn’t stop!

On this first card, I made a large background by adhering strips of each pattern side by side. This stuff is really easy to work with and very forgiving. I found it easy to lift up and reposition if I didn’t let it sit too long.

And each roll has 5 yards so you will receive 15 yards total for $6.50. Yeah!

The stamped flowers are from the Secret Garden stamp set (Wood 129141, Clear 129144) stamped in Island Indigo, Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight. The greeting is from Petite Pairs (Wood 122495, Clear 122497) punched out with the new Artisan Label punch.

Gingham Garden Washi Tape Sample #2

For this card, I used only the Melon Mambo patterned Washi Tape and added a stamped Wildflower Meadow image on top of it. The “Hello” greeting is from the Lacy & Lovely Stamp Set            (Wood 122885, Clear 122887)

Gingham Garden Washi Tape Sample #3

This card has lengths of the Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight gingham patterned Washi Tape with a 2-1/2″ punched circle of the same Wildflower Meadow image.

Gingham Garden Washi Tape Sample #4

This is my least favorite of the four cards. I would love to tell you that is looks better in person but it doesn’t. I can’t fault the Washi Tape, the background works it’s just that the Widlflower Meadow Embossing Folder cutout is too heavy looking for the card.

Sassy Salutations Card

Sassy Salutations Card

Sassy Salutations Card

This card is so simple I’m almost embarrassed to share it with you.

I used the printed window sheet from the Quartrefancy Specialty designer series paper over Coastal Cabana card stock and added a black StazOn stamped greeting from the Sassy Salutations stamp set. A Whisper White card and that’ s it. I don’t think it  can get easier that this.

And speaking of easy stamping, I wanted to show you the cards my sister-in-law, Cathy, and I made for her event. Remember the original design seen here? We simplified the card with a quick redesign, cut the card stock, made the pinwheels and stamped and assembled 32 cards, 8 in each of 4 colors. And guess how long it took us? About 1-1/4 hours! I think that is pretty awesome.

Maybe it is my imagination but I think the ladies at my local post office start to cringe when I walk in. Today I made 4 trips to my local outlet with catalogs, mailing over 100 of them.  The good news – I am caught up! All catalogues requested to date are in the mail. When you receive your catalogue be sure to look for the ordering special enclosed.

Marble Embossing “My Friend” Card

Marble Embossing “My Friend” Card

Marble Embossing My Friend Card

There is no reason ribbon has to face down, is there? I added this ruffle of Pool Party Seam Binding above the greeting facing up and I think it works.

This card was made with Crumb Cake, Pool Party and Early Espresso. A color combo that is quickly becoming a favorite. I embossed the Early Espresso card stock with the Fancy Fan embossing folder before adhering it to Pool Party card stock and then to the Crumb Cake card.

The greeting was stamped in VersaMark onto Pool Party card stock and heat embossed with Early Espresso embossing powder. This piece was layered onto a strip of Early Espresso card stock that has Pool Party Seam Binding behind it.

The “Inchies” are just that – 1″ pieces of a marble embossed image from the My Friend stamp set

A Delicate Doilies Hello Card

A Delicate Doilies Hello Card

Delicate Doilies Hello Card

There is a trend right now in stamping and card making that uses lots of white on cards. You will even see white layered onto white. Personally, I like this look because the cards seem brighter and more eye catching.

This card fits right in since it uses Whisper White for both the background and the greeting tag.

To make this card, I created a Delicate Doilies Sizzlit tag as shown below and then stamped a greeting from the Lacy & Lovely stamp set with Black StazOn ink. I layered the tag onto a Raspberry Ripple card stock piece cut with the Labels Collection framelits and added a matching Raspberry Ripple In Color Dahlia.

The card itself is also Raspberry Ripple card stock with a Modern Mosaic embossed piece of Whisper White card stock. This embossing folder, new to the upcoming catalogue (starts Friday!), is quickly becoming a favorite.

So, do you like the Delicate Doilies tag? Please leave me a comment.

How to Position Sizzlitt in Big Shot

The Big Shot will only cut out whatever is covered by a cutting pad.

To cut out only half the doily, I left half uncovered and then cut along the sides to make a tag.

In fashion, the experts say to pick the color that is least seen in a patterned fabric and then highlight that color in the rest of the outfit.

Does it work for card making as well? I think it does. Here I took the least visible Summer Starfruit and added the focus of the card – the big circle – in the same color.

And my other inspiration? That all my circles were still laying on my stamp table from the last time I used them!

This is a really simple card to make. I stamped an image from Serene Silhouettes in Early Espresso ink and punched it out with the 1-3/4″ circle punch. I then layered the stamped piece onto Early Espresso and Summer Starfruit card stock circles cut out with the Circles #2 Originals die for the Big Shot

The patterned paper is a sneak peek from the new Soho Subway designer series paper that is in the new catalogue.

And for embellishments I used three matching buttons from the Naturals Designer Buttons and a length of Naturals Trim Ribbon.

Did you notice that the card doesn’t have a greeting on the front? And that’s okay.  We often feel pressured to put greetings on our cards but it is perfectly alright not to. And when I need a card in a rush, I can add whatever I want to say inside the card on my way out the door.
