Six-Sided Sampler Bundle with the Hexagon Punch

Six-Sided Sampler Bundle with the Hexagon Punch

Six Sided Sampler Stamps with Hexagon Punch

I’m still stamping with the bundles from the new Stampin’ Up! 2013-2014 catalogue. Today my cards feature the Six-Sided Sampler (Wood 130953 Clear 130956) and the Hexagon punch. Remember these two products can be purchased together as a bundle with a 15% savings.

I decided to use colors from the Brights Collection – Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay because I wanted to use my new Brights Designer Buttons. I also decided to create a Honeycomb embossing folder background for each card since they work so well together.

See the list of Specially Priced Bundles and then leave a comment and let me know your favorite bundle!

The strip of background paper is from the Gingham Garden designer series paper.

The “thanks much” greeting is included with the Six-Sided Sampler stamp set and was punched with the Small Oval.

The second greeting, “my friend”, is included with the Six-Sided Sampler set and was punched with the Word Window punch.

I trimmed the ends and adhered it onto the hexagon shaped Bermuda Bay image.

Flower Sgop Bundle with the Pansy Punch

Some days stamping feels a little bit like work because well, it’s my job. Other days I really enjoy knowing that I am getting paid to stamp. Yesterday was like that. With the arrival of my new catalog product, I took the time yesterday to just stamp.

And to make Simply Pressed Clay flowers. Oh my! These are addicting. And so simple. I started with a basic white flower by simply pressing the clay into the mold that I had lightly powdered with the embossing buddy. Then I stuck the mold in the freezer for 4-5 minutes and out popped the flowers. After letting them dry for a couple of hours, they were ready to use on my cards. Although the bag of clay doesn’t look that big, it’s gonna to go a looong way.

The other new product I really wanted to stamp with was the Flower Shop Bundle.I  am the world’s worst gardener. I only have to be in the same room as flowers and they start to wither. There is no way I could ever work in a real flower shop. But with the Flower Shop stamp set and the matching Pansy Punch, I can create wonderful paper flowers. And no worries – these flowers will last forever!

I layered an offset Pansy Punch of the same color under each stamped and punched Flower Shop image in Wisteria Wonder, Soft Sky and Pink Pirouette. The Pear Pizzazz leaves were made by cutting a Pansy Punch into five pieces.

The greeting is from the Four You stamp set and was stamped in Smoky Slate. Love, love, love this new color! The matching designer series paper is from the Eastern Elegance package. The final touch of embellishment was the Needlepoint Border embossed pattern above and below the designer series paper.

The most ordered and favorite items from the new catalog for me and my customers are definitely the bundles!  Keep reading for more details.

You’re Too Kind

You’re Too Kind

Too Kind stamp set cards

I got to play with a new stamp set today – Too Kind (wood 130447, clear 130450).

As soon as I saw this stamp set it went on my wish list and I am not disappointed. This is simple cardmaking at its best and I couldn’t make just one card.

The new 2013-2015 In Colors were calling to me again so I paired Crisp Cantaloupe with Strawberry Slush for the flowers and added Pistachio Pudding for the stems. I continued the new In Color theme with Boutique Details (130938). These fun embellishments come in four different designs in all five In Colors.

To experience the In Colors for 2013-2015 take advantage of the Cardstock & Pad Kit for $36.95 (131204). You will receive all five ink pads as well as 4 pieces of cardstock in each of the five colors.

Blooming with Kindness in Strawberry Slush

Blooming with Kindness in Strawberry Slush

Blooming with Kindness in Strawberry Slush

I found it! I have been missing my Blooming With Kindness stamp set for months. I know that I had one because I definitely used it before Christmas but I can’t remember seeing it since.

While cleaning my stamp room this weekend to get ready for my Retired Rubber Sale, I spotted this set. Right where it was supposed to be in the bookcase with all of my other sets. I don’t know how I could have overlooked it so often but now I have it.

And I wanted to stamp with it right away. I also knew that I wanted to use the Natural Composition Specialty Designer Series Paper. So this was my starting point.

I am still loving the new In Colors so I decided to add Strawberry Slush to the card. Does anyone else really crave a margarita when working with this color?

Whisper White was my first choice for a neutral but it was just too harsh with this card so I substituted Naturals Ivory. Continuing with the same ivory tone, I added a Very Vintage Designer Button.

And that was my creative process.

How do you work? Do you start with a color palette? a favorite accessory? a layout you like? Leave a comment and let me know.

Today is the last day to order from the previous catalogue. See the retiring stamps  and accessories.

Field Flowers in Coastal Cabana

Field Flowers in Coastal Cabana

Field Flowers stamped in Coastal Cabana and Crumb Cake

I have always loved the two-step stamp sets. Like this one, Field Flowers. I like the way you can stamp each image in one color of ink and have  great looking flowers or you can stamp in two colors of ink, layering the coordinating images, and have a truly “wow” flower.

Here I stamped the bolder image in Coastal Cabana and then over stamped with the more open image in Crumb Cake. After stamping the stem in Pear Pizzazz, I cut out the two flowers and added them with dimensionals.

The greeting is also from Field Flowers stamped in Coastal Cabana and punched out with layering circles and added to the card.

The background is made with the Modern Mosaic embossing folder on Crumb Cake card stock and adhered to a card of Coastal Cabana layered with Whisper White.

Lastly I added pearls to catch the eye at the bottom of the card. The two smaller pearls are the large and medium size from the Pearl Basics and the largest pearl is from the Large Pearl BasicsA simple touch but it definitely adds a certain something to the card.

Simply Sketched with the Silver Dazzle Marker

Simply Sketched with the Silver Dazzle Marker

Simply Sketched with the Silver Stampin Dazzle Marker

This week I have felt like a very confused stamper. Or as my daughter would say confuzzled. I alternate between using my sneak peek products from the new 2013-2014 Stampin’ Up! Canada catalogue (ordering starts tomorrow – yeah!) And using retiring products that I know I am going to miss.

Like the silver and gold Stampin’ Dazzle markers. Although the dazzle markers do not appear on the retired list, they are not expected to be available after tomorrow. So get them now! For $4.50 each, they are a bargain.

The dazzle markers can be used to write inside a card especially on dark card stock. You can accent a stamped image but coloring one part of the image. You can even stamp with them as I did here

But my favorite way to use the markers is what I did on this card. Heat emboss an image in silver or gold onto vellum. Choose an image with lots of open space like this one from the new hostess set, Simply Sketched

Turn the stamped vellum over and color on the back side with the dazzle marker. That’s it. In a pinch, you can use a metallic Sharpie marker but the color it not as opaque and intense.

The stamp set is called Watercolor Winter and is now retired but any line art set will work.
