A Sweet Summer in Melon Mambo

A Sweet Summer in Melon Mambo

Sweet Summer Card in Melon Mambo

My Dreaming About Rubber Stamps team held a shoebox swap on Saturday and this is the card I shared for everyone to make.

As the swap was Sale-A-Bration themed, I used the Sweet Summer stamp set, (W121849, C123214),  a Melon Mambo paper from the Ice Cream Parlor Designer Series Paper & Quick Accent Pack (122242) and a Melon Mambo button from the Ice Cream Parlor Ribbon & Button Pack (123529). And right now, you can choose your free Stampin’ Up! product from these three items and more with a $60 order.

Take A Spin! Card

Take A Spin! Card

Take a Spin Card

I was speaking with my friend, Madhu, yesterday and she asked me if I liked the Take A Spin stamp set.  And although I said I did, I had to admit that I had not actually made a card using this set yet. So, today I did!

And I like the set even better now!

I stamped the circle three times – in Old Olive, So Saffron and Tempting Turquoise. Then I cut out pieces of the Old Olive and So Saffron circles and paper pieced them onto the Tempting Turquoise circle. I was concerned that the Game Spinner Hand might not move bit it does. It actually sits up a little bit on the washer so it helped with this bulkier card.

The card itself is Chocolate Chip with layers of Tempting Turquoise and So Saffron. On the So Saffron piece, I stamped “thank you for being you” from the Bold Blossom stamp set which seemed appropriate for this card.

I adhered the spinner circle to a larger circle of Chocolate Chip cardstock with dimensionals and added three Chocolate Chip brads as an embellishment. Hope you like it!

Sale A Bration – So Happy For You

Sale A Bration – So Happy For You

So Happy for You SaleA Bration Card

This is another very simple card featuring the So Happy For You stamp set which is also a free stamp set choice during Sale A Bration.

To make this card, I created a Very Vanilla card and stamped the “birthday wishes” greeting from So Happy For You along the bottom right in Baja Breeze ink. And that’s the only stamping involved!

Next,  I punched a piece of Baja Breeze cardstock with the Scallop Trim Border punch. Over that I layered more Very Vanilla cardstock with a Baja Breeze patterned paper from the Springtime Vintage designer series paper package.

Finally, I tied a bow of Very Vanilla satin ribbon and adhered a Rosette on top of the knot. To that I added a Basic Rhinestone. And I was finshed!

Tip: Make several of these cards without the greeting. As you need a card, you can stamp whichever So Happy For You greeting is needed: so happy for you, good luck, birthday wishes, thinking of you or thanks. A great time saver!

Sale A Bration – Bliss Stamp Set

Sale A Bration – Bliss Stamp Set

Bliss Stamp Set Card

I made this card with the Bliss stamp set and choose the colours – Basic Black, Very Vanilla and Riding Hood Red to go with it. I love the versatility of this Sale A Bration stamp set. This card has a complete different look than this card which also used the Bliss stamp set.

For this card, I also used the First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper. This paper is fast becoming a favourite of mine. In the package, you receive 24 doubled sided sheets that will remind you of dictionary and encyclopedia pages. The pattern is subtle and works well by adding an accent to the page without taking the focus off the stamped images.

For this card, I stamped three flowers from the Bliss stamp set in Riding Hood Red ink and punched then with the 1″ circle punch. I layered each image onto a 1-1/4″ circle punched from Basic Black cardstock. After adding a small Basic Rhinestone to the center of each flower, I added them to the card I had already made by adhering the First Editions paper to Very Vanilla cardstock with the ‘Bliss” greeting stamped in the lower right corner. I added Basic Black satin ribbon as another embellishment and I was finished. A really clean and simple card and a layout that can be used with a wide variety of stamp sets. Enjoy!

Sale A Bration Card – Punch Bunch

Sale A Bration Card – Punch Bunch

Punch Bunch Sale A Bration Card

This card uses the new Punch Bunch stamp set from page 5 of the Sale A Bration catalogue. You can earn this stamp set free with any $60 order.

To make this card, I used the Fancy Flower Punch twice – once in Daffodil Delight cardstock and once in the Sweet Stitches designer series paper. I crumpled up the flowers and then adhered them to another patterned piece of Sweet Stiches designer series paper that I had already layered onto Early Espresso cardstock and added Wild Wasabi stems and leaves. The leaves were also punched from the Fancy Flower punch and then cut down with scissors. I also crumpled up the leaves before adding then to the card.

I wrapped Early Espresso 5/8″ grosgrain ribbon around this piece and added a length of the Pompom Trim in Daffodil Delight on top. The Pompom Trims are so cute! You need to add one of these to your order!

Next, I stamped the “true friend” greeting onto Crumb Cake cardstock with Early Espresso ink. Then, I punched it out with the 1″ circle punch and added it to the card with a dimensional. Finally, I then made an Early Espresso button with the Sweet Buttons embosslit and added it to the card with a dimensional after adding a bow of linen thread.

This card is probably more shabby chic then most of my cards. Please leave a comment and let me know if you like it!

Sale-A-Bration – Sweet Summer Sneak Peek

Sale-A-Bration – Sweet Summer Sneak Peek

Sweet Summer Sale-A-Bration Card

Isn’t this card cheerful?

I used another of the free Sale-A-Bration sets for this card – the Sweet Summer stamp set. I told you it would be difficult to choose a favourite set so it’s a good thing you can earn more than one!

One of my favourite colour combinations is Pear Pizzazz and Poppy Parade so I decided to use those colours for this card. I made a Framed Tulip embossing folder frame in Pear Pizzazz and added a piece of Poppy Parade cardstock inside the frame.  Next, I added a piece of striped Pear Pizzazz paper from the Springtime Vintage designer series paper package. The stem was stamped onto Glossy White cardstock with Black StazOn ink and then coloured in with inks and a Blender Pen. I stamped the three flowers onto another piece of Glossy White cardstock and after colouring theim, I cut them out and applied them to the card with dimensionals. In addition to Pear Pizzazz and Poppy Parade, I also use Daffodil Delight ink to colour the flowers. I added Pear Pizzazz seam binding to hide where the two papers joined before I added a “thanks” greeting from the So Happy For You stamp set, another Sale-A-Bration freebie.  I think this card would really brighten someone’s day, don’t you?
