Last night as my daughter, Alex, was getting ready for bed, she suddenly remembered that she needed a birthday card for one of her friends at school. And it needed to be large enough for other friends to sign. I really did not want to create a card from scratch at that hour (I was watching The Closer!) and needed a fast solution. Luckily, I still had this little card and used it to easily create a bigger card.
First, I created a full size card of Crumb Cake cardstock and added a piece of Real Red polka dot paper from the Brights Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack. Behind the paper, I added a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock along the top and a second piece that had been punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border along the bottom.
After cutting the back off the little card, I added it with dimensionals and I was done!
To create even ends on the banner, you can use any square punch as shown above.

First, I ran three different colours of cardstock – Daffodil Delight, Basic Black and Whisper White – through my Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine using the new Fun Flowers Bigz Die from the Occasions Mini Catalogue. And the fun part? Layering the flowers with different combinations of colours and sizes. It’s like doing a puzzle!
Once I decided on this combination for my first card, I added a Basic Black Glimmer Brad to the center to hold the flower in place.
Next, I stamped the “Friend” greeting from the You’re a Gem stamp set in Basic Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock and punched it out with the Modern Label Punch. I punched a second Modern Label from Basic Black cardstock and cut it on half vertically to layer behind the first piece.
The Daffodil Delight patterned paper is from the Sweet Stitches designer series paper package. I thought it worked really well with his card and the Basic Black and Daffodil Delight Grosgrain ribbons I used as an accent. Please leave me a comment if you like this card or have any questions on the Fun Flowers Bigz die.
And don’t forget to check my blog and newsletter tomorrow for my new Sale-A-Bration special!

Do you remember this Framed Tulip card? I had several requests for an instruction video, so here it is!
Once I started playing with the Framed Tulip Embossing Folder I just couldn’t stop. Watch the video to see some of the neat designs that can be made using this embossing folder. And it’s only $10.95!

For all of these cards, I used the Springtime Vintage designer series paper with cardstock and inks in Baja Breeze, Rose Red, Pear Pizzazz, Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake.
I embellished each card with an Adornment in one of three colours- Baja Breeze, Rose Red or Very Vanilla.
For the first card, I created a square frame in Rose Red.
If you only took a quick look at the Petal Cone Die in the Occasions Mini catalogue, or didn’t even notice it all, go take another look. This Bigz die for the Big Shot Machine is so cute!
I was surprised how easy these were to make and the die even includes the scallop petals and the banner.
I dressed the Petal Cone die up a bit with a length of Very Vanilla Seam Binding that I gathered a little bit.
The only other embellishment is the Rosette with a pearl center.
Whether you leave this Petal Cone die open of close the top for a different look and purpose, you will have fun creating with this die.

When my kids were younger, weekends meant birthday parties. It seemed as if one of my kids, if not both, received an invitation almost weekly. And that meant that I spent lots of time making cards for my kids to include with their gifts.
As soon as I saw this Build a Cupcake punch, I knew that it would create fast and fun cards for birthday parties. These little cards are 3″ x 3″ and fit perfectly into theMini Square Envelopes (107309). And the cards were really quick to make! The cards were created almost entirely from punches. The only stamping is the Happy Birthday greeting from the Create A Cupcake stamp set.
I hope you like these Simple Saturday cards. Have fun stamping this weekend!
I think this cupcake colour combination with Real Red and Chocolate Chip is my favourite. I love the new Glimmer Paper!
Little girls love pink so this card combines Regal Rose with Chocolate Chip.
I made this cupcake using Baja Breeze with the Chocolate Chip for a little boys birthday.

As soon as I saw the Occasions Mini catlaogue I knew that I had to have this Bold Blossom stamp set. There are a few reasons that I was immediately drawn to this stamp set – I love anything with flowers, I love the bolder images in this stamp set and I love the price – $11.95 in clear or $15.95 in wood.
And I know I made the right decision! I spend just an hour or so creating with this stamp set the other night and was able to make quite a few cards. I used multiple flowers or just a single stem, punched out the flowers or stamped directly onto the card, dressed the images up with pearls and glimmer brads and used soft and bold colours.
Here are a couple of the cards I made:
This first card uses So Saffron, Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz.
The colours are really soft and subtle and the Basic Pearls seemed like just the right embellishment.
This card uses Pear Pizzazz, Poppy Parade and Daffodil Delight.
These colours are a lot bolder than the first card. I used the small oval to punch out the flowers and layered the punch flowers onto a punched 1″ circle in the opposite colour of cardstock for a different look from the first card.
I also used the new Pompom Trim in Daffodil Delight. Isn’t it cute?
