I haven’t used my Crystal Effects in awhile so I decided to use it on this card to add some shine.
I stamped the Vivid Vases stamp multiple times with Tuxedo Memento ink – once on the card itself and then five more times on different patterns of designer series paper from Sweet Taffy. I cut out each paper vase and then carefully applied a thin coat of Crystal Effects with a paintbrush and allowed some drying time. The time to dry will depend on how thickly the Crystal Effects is applied. Remembering to rinse out the paintbrush right away will make clean up easier.
The card stocks used for this card are Bermuda Bay, Basic Black and Whisper White. I embossed the smaller piece of Bermuda Bay card stock with the Polka Dot embossing folder before assembling the card.
Since the Sweet Taffy paper features the Brights Collections colors, I colored the flowers with the same Brights Stampin’ Write Markers.
Three pearls along the bottom helped create a third focal point on the card. The eye likes triangles in photography and card making so the addition of some type embellishment in a corner can really help make the card look complete.
To finish the card, I used stampin’ dimensionals to attach the vases and add some height for a more 3d card.
This glass technique can be used on many images including windows, water and flowers. Have fun!
