We all have our weaknesses. Those things we just can’t resist. Mine are coffee, books and nail polish.
And background stamps.
I love the big background stamps, especially if they have flowers. So, you know I had to order Something Lacy as soon as I saw it. I just had to. And I have no regrets.
I spent a lot of yesterday stamping and I had a lot of mishaps. When those ideas in my head can’t translate onto a card no matter what I tried. It was actually a pretty frustrating stamping day. But Something Lacy never let me down. I made several cards with this stamp (I’ll share them soon) and it all just worked.
The white embossed card below is the one I made for my stamp club last night. Janey, one of the ladies who attended, changed her card up and used the Calypso Coral embossing powder instead. And now I don’t know which I like better.
For both cards, I heat embossed and then colored with the Calypso Coral and Old Olive blendabilities. Remember, these can be your free Sale-a-bration choices with a $60 order. I added a button and ribbon from the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack on top of the Crazy For You greeting to finish the card.
This is my original card with white embossing powder. Everything else is the same.

Sometimes the cards that come together the fastest are my favorites.
I made this card in just a few minutes using only two colors – Coastal Cabana and and Basic Black.
The fern image is from the Butterfly Basics stamp set and the technique used here is called generational stamping. Ink up the stamp with black ink and stamp once. Without re-inking the stamp, stamp a second and third time to create the generations of color from light to dark.
A tag with a honeycomb background and “happy birthday” greeting was added to the card with dimensionals. Both of these images are also in the Butterfly Basics stamp set.
To complete the card, I added Coastal Cabana ribbon to the tag and knotted it three times at the end. This ribbon is included in the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack that also has Calypso Coral and Crushed Curry ribbons as well as coordinating buttons. I added color to this simple Butterfly Basics stamp set card by creating a background rectangle to go behind the stamped image.
Once the rectangle of color was dry, I stamped the flower image and greeting in VersaMark ink and heat embossed with black powder.
What do I love best about my Blendabilities? Every time I use the markers, I feel like an artist and I just can’t go wrong. There is no better time to try them yourself than when they can be yours for free.

I made a frame by cutting out the center of a post-it note with the stampin’ trimmer but you can use anything that helps you create a guide.
The beauty of Blendabilities! I colored half the paper in Coastal Cabana and the other half in Calypso Coral. By using the three markers in each assortment, light, medium and dark, I was able to blend the colors and create the finished background shown below.
Can you see how well the colors blended once I finished layering the three shades included in each pack of Blendabilities? Yeah!

Making cards doesn’t get simpler than a matching stamp set and punch like the Petal Potpourri bundle.
For this card, I stamped a greeting in Coastal Cabana ink on the card and added Sahara Sand Lace Trim and Coastal Cabana ribbon along the side.
The lacy flower is one of four large flowers in the Petal Potpourri stamp set and the one I thought went best with the lace trim. A button and neutrals candy dot in the middle of the flower and done.
For making simple, fast cards this set can’t be beat.

I love the elegant style of this stamp set which extends to the greetings. Everyone needs a great “thank you” stamp and the font on this set is the perfect mix of script and print.
Stamp the flowers with a single color of ink for a monochromatic look or step it up and mix colours and textures for a different look.
For this card, I stamped the two larger flower images in Blushing Bride and then over stamped with the smallest image in silver. I added silver mini brads as an accessory and brushed silver paper to complete the card.
