Since I still had Pool Party, Tangerine Tango and Summer Starfruit sitting on my desk, I decided to continue this colour theme with the Madison Avenue stamp set. I added Lucky Limeade as well as I wanted a green for my leaves.
Using the Top Note die for the Big Shot, I cut a piece from Pool Party card stock and used it as the center of my card. Three 1″ stripes of card stock in Lucky Limeade, Tangerine Tango and Summer Starfruit were embossed with the Vine Street embossing folder and adhered to the Top Note in varying lengths. I found these strips of paper to move around alot in the folder so I used a post it note to hold them in place.
I stamped the leaves from the Madison Avenue stamp set onto Whisper White card stock with Lucky Limeade ink and punched the image out with the 2-1/2″ Circle punch making sure that the leaves were close to the bottom. I also stamped the flower in Pool Party ink and punched it out with the 1″ Circle punch. Again with the Pool Party ink, I stamped a greeting from the Bloomin’ Marvelous stamp set and punched it out the Ticket Duo Builder punch.
I adhered the pieces to the Top Note using Dimensionals behind the punched pieces and added a Whisper White card behind the Top Note to finish.

I am so sorry that those of you who subscribe to my blog by e-mail or RSS have received numerous old posts yesterday.
What a bloggers nightmare the last day has been! As I was working on a post last night, half of my blog including all the sidebars blipped and disappeared. But that really should not have been a big issue as the blog backs up regularly and I knew it could be reset to the previous day. I contacted my host company to do so and after several hours I was told that all the recent backups were corrupted and the blog had to be reset to December 31st. Then the posts since then were added back in manually. As the posts were entered again, the system recognized them as new posts and sent them out again to subscribers.
The good news is that everything seems to be working as it should be now. If you are experiencing any issues, please e-mail me.
Now, let’s talk stamping! This card uses another of the new stamp sets for Sale-A-Bration 2013 – Vintage Verses. Early forecasting says this just may be the most popular product for Sale-A-Bration this year. Remember, you can earn this stamp set free with a $60 order.
I made the card from Summer Starfruit card stock and rounded the two corners before adding three 3/4″ strips of various patterned papers from the Sycamore Street designer series paper package. I stamped the greeting in Rich Razzleberry ink on Whisper White card stock. After cutting it out with Window Frames Collection framelit, I cut a larger Pool Party piece for layering. This piece was also embossed with the Vine Street embossing folder another free item for SAB 2013. I finished the card with a matching Rich Razzleberry button from the Sycamore Street Ribbon & Button pack.

I am having so much fun creating with my new Sale-A-Bration 2013 sets that I can’t even pick a favorite yet. Whichever set I am using at the moment is my must have stamp set! So, then today’s preferred stamp set has to be Pretty Petites (set of 8, wood 129639, clear 129642)
For this card, I also used two other Sale-A-Bration products, Sycamore Street designer series paper (127540) and the Petite Curly Label Punch (129405).
The colours in the Sycamore Street DSP are so vibrant – Island Indigo, Pool Party, Rich Razzleberry, Sahara Sand, Summer Starfruit and Tangerine Tango. I have never used as much Tangerine Tango card stock as I have these past few weeks so definitely stock up on these colours if you are getting the paper as your free SAB item. And the Petite Curly Label Punch matches the Pretty Petites stamp set so perfectly. I love simple stamping!
I added two Pool Party hearts punched with the Small Heart Punch (117193) and my card was good to go.

This card is a sneak peek from the Spring 2013 catalogue using the You Rule stamp set with the new Large Rhinestone Basic Jewels and the Two-Tone 1-1/4″ Ribbon in Rose Red/Pink Pirouette. Love the bling!
Card stock is Rose Red with Brushed Silver and Whisper White.

I don’t watercolor very often because I’m not the best at it. But I am do find that I am slowly getting better with some practice.
Some things I have learned that work for me:
• Use watercolor paper
• Start with a small amount of colour and add more as needed
• Leave some white space and don’t worry too much about the outside lines
• I love the control I get from the tip on the Aqua Painter but I think I grip it too hard because my projects are always ready to float away. My solution is to use the Aqua Painter with a small cup of water and dip into it as needed.
Tip: When watercoloring and using a cup to hold your water for painting, don’t drink from the cup. Ask me how I know this isn’t a good idea.

A fast and easy embellishment!
Stamp the Gently Falling stamp set image with Black StazOn ink.
Scribble with the watercolor crayon onto a clear block or other non-porous surface (like the lid of a yogurt or sour cream containers) and pick up the colour with your wet Aqua Painter. You can add more colour to the blocks as needed or if you have too much colour save it on the block for next time.

I just had to make one more card using the Jumbo Sticky Rounds, this time with the Comfort Cafe Fabric. I choose this fabric because the design was small and consistent and I liked the colour combination.
Since the fabric has Soft Suede and Summer Starfruit as its colours, of course, I picked the same colours for my card. And embellishing the card was quick as I choose those same colours again – Soft Suede Taffeta Ribbon and a Summer Starfruit Dahlia. The Dahlia looked kind of lost on its own so I layered it onto a dark brown Naturals Designer Button with a mini glue dot and used a second mini glue dot to stick it to the fabric flower.
I also used leftover fabric underneath the ribbon to make it stand out more and tie the card together.

To make the rosette, fold an approximately 1″ wide piece of the Summer Starfruit patterned fabric from the Comfort Cafe package (126894) in half along the length. The length of the fabric required will vary depending on how tightly you wrap it and how much you pinch it. I usually start with the full length of 27″ for my first card. Starting at the outside of the Jumbo Sticky Round (127852), pinch and fold down the fabric as you work you way to the middle.
